Where do downloaded images disappear to?

Before updating my Nexus 10 a week ago, saved images appeared in Gallery. Now, however, Gallery is gone, replaced bu Photos. After saving an image, I can't find it in Photos and I don't know where else to look. Can anyone help?

Just slide right from the left side of the screen or tap the icon in upper left to get the menu and tap on "on device".

Thanks, Evilnut. It turns out to be a problem with Boat browser. I switched to Dolphin and the downloads show up in Photos.
