Where do our toys come from...

I'm sorry, I just don't understand. Things are different between Europe and the US. Just because they work less doesn't mean we can just cut hours and everything will just work out how it does there. Its oversimplification in my mind. Its like saying the laborers in China just need to unionized and then they'll all get better wages and working conditions and they'll all be happier. Its not quite that easy.

I'm not trying to be argumentative. I just don't really understand what you're trying to say I guess, or how cutting peoples hours and pay could be a good thing for the economy or even feasible.
 
My point wasn't that I think things should change, because they won't. Americans are too profit oriented for that. My point was that it is being done and that it seems to be working for them, and it could work for us if things were different. Meanwhile, as you said there are no simple answers. Just saying unions would fix China is like saying bandaids stop all bleeding.
