Where do the saved files go?

Good point! I'd only ever needed to go in and look-hadn't thought about Quickoffice not actually being able to do anything with most file types. Makes sense... And it's going away too. 3rd party solution, here I come.

From there you can only see what you have in the download folder but you can only open files that can be opened with QuickOffice. By the way I have read that Google will end updating QuickOffice ... http://www.pcworld.com/article/2429...-of-quickoffice-mobile-productivity-apps.html

That's too bad. I like Quick Office. I even uninstalled Adobe because QO is my go to for reading pdf files and Adobe adds something to the share menu that you can only use of you pay for it. Just basically hate the KitKat version of the Download app.
 
In case anyone is still reading this, I found a cool trick to see everything. Under settings, click display advanced devices and voila, you can now see internal storage when you select "open a file".
