It's really hard to see that there's any "next big thing" waiting in the wings anywhere. This phone (the S6) is really about as close to perfection as I can imagine in the foreseeable future. Other than some incremental improvements in camera or battery life I really have a hard time seeing where any smartphone maker goes from here. We may truly have reached to point of diminishing (or non-existent) returns in this field of technology. Think desktop OS' What can WIndows 8 or 10 do that XP couldn't do? There comes a point at which a technology reaches conceptual maturity and, other than a few changes in bells and whistles, can't really go any further.
I never thought I'd say this (as I tend to upgrade almost every year) but the S6 may be my companion for a very long time.
I can't even think of a NBT ("Next Big Thing") for smartphones...even on the horizon.
