Where is 4.0.4 OTA?

Source please?
Search the boards. A French wireless carrier, SFR, posted the ICS update schedule.

It will not take hardly anytime to go through Verizon at all. Why do people think they have anyway to hold the updates up? The only evidence of an update we have seen was 4.0.2 which came to Verizon before the rest of the world!
VZW tier 2 tech support told me it takes VZW about 1.5 months to approve any updates.

4.0.4 is an update specific to the LTE Nexus.

The 4.0.5 update that is rumored to come out next month is also rumored to be for the GSM nexus so those holdin their breath for that one should take that into consideration as well. Rumors could be wrong, sure.
How do you know 4.0.4 is specific to the LTE GNex and that 4.0.5 is for the GSM GNex?

The SS is French which is GSM?

So far the GSM has be 1 version ahead. LTE is 4.0.2 and GSM is 4.0.3

That's my guess.

Still want 4.0.4 on my phone right now.

I could care less when the official OTA drops. Just release the damn source code already!

"Quick updates, direct from Google". You remember that right? Uh huh.

Who said anything about quick updates? Yes you get updates quicker than other devices that have skins on them, but I don't understand where this idea came from that they are monthly updates or something.

Google wants things to work. You should be happy that they don't want to release a s**t update that makes things worse and then push more updates to fix previous updates like a lot of OEMs do.

Just relax. If you're that uptight about it, there are plenty of ROMs that are based off 4.0.4.

It just gets slightly delayed by Verizon because they have to add their closed source network stack and do some extensive testing. Verizon is pretty particular / thorough about letting updates and devices onto their network.

They're not delaying things on purpose, but its just one extra step after Google is done with the update.

I think you need to define the phrase 'slightly delayed'. When the previous poster said he didn't know where people got the idea that updates would be quick and direct from Google, this is why.

Prior to the Nexus release there were tons of posts saying how quick updates would be. This has not been the case. We're coming up on 1/4 of a year and have had only one OTA update with numerous issues remaining.

So when people say 'slightly delayed' this simply contributes to the misconception of 'quick' updates. When Verizon is involved, there is nothing 'quick' about it and delays are rarely 'slight'.

Not trying to jump on anyone here, but just stating facts when it comes to anything Verizon.

That's not a 'slight' delay in my book. A few days or a couple of weeks is a slight delay. And we all know with Verizon when they say 1.5 months, they really mean 2-3 months.

I'm curious if anyone who is running 4.0.4 has noticed if the time lag when rotating the device has been fixed. This is extremely annoying.

Yeah, it's not a slight delay to me, either.

This isn't lag, it's actually intended to be slower to rotate to prevent accidental rotations. Many people think it is too slow, including myself, but custom ROMs have this fixed. Hopefully Google speeds it up some as well in the official update.

Root with custom ROM fixes that.
I am unlocked and rooted running stock 4.0.2. I plan on trying custom ROMs as soon as the OTA update comes and I play with that for awhile.

I was under the impression it was coming in March, but who knows. I probably should just start experimenting now with custom ROMs.

Welcome fellow beta testers!, have you also noticed how slow the roll out of ics into other new phones and upgrades to 2.3 etc? obviously ics not ready for prime time. Whatever update we get will be test for all builds and they are probably doing what they should have before releasing this.

I manage a group of software V&V engineers. We're under as much time pressure as anyone else. When the testing phase is complete, it be rolled out. I'm fairly sure no one is sitting on a release. This is business. And one with stiff competition and high stakes. My bet is that their validation group is putting in some long hours.
