Where is best to save contacts

S5 Active what is the difference/ advantages saving to phone sim or Samsung account?

Re: Where is best to save contacts

If you save them on the SIM card and it goes bad, you lost all of them. If you save them on the phone and it goes bad, or a truck drives over it, or you drop it in the water, you lost all of them. If you save them in your Google account, they're safe, and any phone you set up with that Google account will have them. (The Samsung account is the same thing, but if your next phone isn't a Samsung, it may not be able to sync to the Samsung account. All Android phones can sync to the Google account [and there are even simple ways to transfer that account to an iPhone].)

Re: Where is best to save contacts

SIM contacts can be names and numbers only. No email addresses, no physical addresses, birthdays, photos - no extra information. SIM contacts is an old, outdated technology.

Rukbat is absolutely correct. The best place to save contacts is to your Google account. Save more info, automatic backup and easy transfer to a new phone.

Android since v1.0. Linux user since 2001.
