Where is /data/user/0...?

I have an app Retroarch which writes to a series of directories under /data/user/0/com.retroarch.. Can anyone tell me the full pathname of this directory, as I cannot find it (am using ES File Explorer to access my phone's file system). Or is it only a directory that a phone with root access can see?

Yep. Only root access can see it. It's to keep apps safe from being broken by people who delete stuff at random.

Unfortunately does this mean I can't back up my save and savestates from the app unless I jailbreak the phone?

Not jailbreak but root. Jailbreak is for ios. The folder /data/0/user/com.retroarch can be edited without root only by application retroarch. I think there are a way in retroarch to copy these files into normal folder.
