Android 4.1.2 has been available for some GS3 as early as December of 2012. Why is AT&T holding out on us? By the time we get 4.1.2, Key Lime Pie will be on the other carriers GS3 devices. I'm just saying!
Where is the love?

Idk im hoping we get it but, I really dont think we will ever c that update :(

root the phone and try out some of the 4.2.2 Roms. Can't imagine 4.1.2 is all that big of a deal over 4.1.1

Samsung said we will get the update; it is AT&T that is slow. I have a co-worker with the GS3 on Verizon and they been had their update. I just saw that AT&T updated the LG Optimus G to 4.1.2 yesterday.

I don't root my phone until it it out of warranty and I use it at work for BYOD and it can't be rooted.

There have been two implementations of 4.1.2. In Europe, they got the premium suite, including the split screen with the option of two apps at once. Here in the USA, 4.1.2 has come without the Premium Suite, so it was just bug fixes and minor enhancements.

Since Verizon released 4.1.2 without Premium Suite a while ago now, I just hope that AT&T just decided to skip it in favor of a 4.2.1 or 4.2.2 update. I just wish AT&T would SAY it, rather than staying silent on the issue.

My understanding is that the US variant will not get the 4.1.2 Premium Suite due to the fact that it only has a Dual-Core processor, whereas the International implementation came with a quad-core processor... So +1 on the thought of waiting for the 4.2.x roll-out. Hopefully the dual-core won't be a limiter on that as well.

The Sprint GS3 will be getting Premium Suite in the next update

That's why I sold the GS3 and bought the Nexus 4

Why, so you can get the Premium Suite? The only reason we are so annoyed is because Samsung DID release the update, but AT&T has delayed it. As far as dual vs. quad core being the reason for not getting the Premium Suite, I call BS on that one since a dual-core can handle it well enough.

More likely he's referencing switching to the N4 for the immediate update support, not specifically "Premium Suite."

I was swinging through the forum looking for a release date as well (girlfriend has the GS3), but all I've discovered is that there is shockingly a carrier slower than Verizon at pushing out updates.

It's a shame Google, Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG, and Sony don't band together against carriers and demand to be treated in the same manner as the iPhone. Carriers holding up these updates is just ridiculous. I love my Nexus 4 and our updates, but truth be told, updates wouldn't take even half as long if carriers stopped meddling with them. With Samsung's revenue success with their Galaxy series, and Google's influence, one would think they have the leverage here to demand that carriers back off.

Well said, I think I will write a letter to Sammy and ask the to pressure AT&T the carriers into treating their devices like the iPhone other devices, when it comes to releasing updates.

If it was not for the fast speed of AT&T LTE I think I would have dropped them by now. I know will not tolerate it forever! Hopefully the switch by T-Mobile will pressure the other carries into treating the customers better than just a number among many.

Tmobile is no better with updates if that's what you're implying.

TMO GS3 * NEXUS 7

root the phone and install a stable 4.2.2 Rom. Solves the getting angry with the carrier issue and IMHO 4.1.2 isn't much of an upgrade.

As for the carriers upgrading all of them suck like geekymcfly said.

At least they update the newest pones first.

Well my s3 is one of the latest devices and it doesn't have LTE support like many of the others (tmo wants us s3 users to purchase a new phone in order to get LTE) then the sghT999 doesn't have 4.1.2 either maybe we'll get lucky next fall (j/k) but what other devices on the have it besides the note 2

Nexus 7 * Tmo Galaxy s3

I have the Note, it's new and we are STILL waiting for Jellybean 4.1 period.
