Question Where is my lock screen image stored?

So years ago I took a picture I really liked and used it as my lock screen. Then one way or another I changed phones and the picture remained in my lock screen but it's nowhere to be found in my pictures storage. I checked archive, hidden galleries etc but I can't find it.

Is there a way to retrieve it?

It would be helpful to know which device you have, it would allow us to provide exact instructions, but without knowing, in general, many devices have a Theme app or setting. To find out if your device has this, open Settings, tap the magnifying glass and search "theme", and open the setting or app on your phone and you will likely find the image in a gallery here.

I have a Sammy, so for me Themes is an app. If you have a Samsung also you can see in my screenshots the two folders to look in for this image. Along the bottom of the app tap the Menu tab, and then tap Purchased items, which is obviously items that you bought or downloaded in the Themes app, or tap My Stuff in the upper left corner, and these would be the items you've brought with you from other devices or used in the past.

Let us know what device you have for more specific advice.

I got to thinking about this after my post, and if you used an app like Zedge, that doesn't require a log-in but does associate you with your devices, may have a record of past downloaded items also. I'd show screenshots of this but I only used Zedge as an example but it is similar to the instructions mentioned above.
