Where is the color adjustment settings?

id just switch off the auto adjust + use the slider in notification area. does Lux have its own auto adjust?
Looks like it does.

When I downloaded and installed it, I tapped the Auto icon and the brightness levels were automatically adjusted and displayed in percentage and lx.

I checked the display settings and noted that the "Auto brightness" box was unchecked after installed Lux.

Just took the dog for a walk on a creek trail where the S III normally is dimmed lower than I would want it to be. It made the screen brighter than it normally would be.

After returning home, the brightness automatically decreased via Lux where I don't have much lighting turned on.

This may be the answer I was looking for to replace the built-in Automatic brightness.

sounds good man. ive always hated auto-brightnes but having control of how it responds might be nice :-) hopefuly google or manufacturers will learn from apps like that :)

In the past, when I had a Blackberry 8800 (the "world phone") I always had it on full brightness. It just seemed nicer to look at.

When I made the switch the iPhone 3G and then the EVO, I started to like the auto brightness. Especially when in bed.

When I put my EVO side-by-side with the S III, it defiantly wants to go substantially darker than the EVO.

Use "Lux Auto Brightness" found in the Play Store. It allows for the brightness to be turned all the way down. The screen also seems to be brighter on those sunny days outside with it turned all the way up.

Yess thank you so much dude. . Perfect. Brings the brightness way further down than the standard setting. Perfect for the movie now :p

with Lux, is the dimming and brightening smoother than android or does it still change in noticable chunks

I went into Lux's options and chose the Adjust Dynamically option. It's smooth, but not silky smooth.

Still worth having the extra backlight, or less.

Play around with the settings and let us know what you like.

...itl be interesting to see how much battery use comes from the app..
I installed GSam Battery Monitor. I'll report back in a week and see if the increase in brightness is worth the toll it will inevitably take on the battery.

yeah but itl give a rough guide of how much battery the native auto adjust in phones uses

As far as the topic title, like a previous user said, only the international variants had that option. Was hoping to mess with them too on my Sprint GS3 variant. And as far as an app to decrease the brightness, I've used an app called Screen Filter by haxor industry. Haven't tried Lux Auto-brightness so if that dims it far enough for you then that should be fine. Just that if you need it even darker, Screen Filter can go as far as nearly pitch black. Used it back on my Epic 4G days and it still works fantastic on my GS3.

Why don't you watch the movie and not whoever is checking their phone. The movies you go to must suck, 'cause I could care less If someone is just checking their phone and not talking on it. I mean really a forty or fifty foot screen and blaring surround sound and you are the cell phone ninnie :'(
Maybe YOU will remember his post the next time you go to the movies and get off your high horse.

It's a rule of the establishment you're visiting. That's why you shouldn't do it. Oh, I forgot, the rules don't apply to narcissists like you... loser.
