Where the heck is spell check on the Galaxy S4?

actually he is correct, spell check is a part of an application, not the keyboard itself

the only raeson why a keyboard would ever allow you to have a spell check function is because it installs a program or application on your computer or device in order for there to have spell check.

this only continue to prove his point, if you ever understand how applications and devices are two separate things, that spell check is not integrated into devices.

However there are devices /keyboards now that may provide a spell check as a bonus, though in most cases they usually don't.

There is an autocorrect after tapping space, you just have to turn it on. As for spell check? Only seen that on iOS devices (my only other portable device that's is somewhat near a smartphone being an iPod touch)

As I am reading these questions and complaints I feel more and more disappointed in the fact that I have purchased my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
This only for one single reason. Spell check!
Now if I say Spell Check I do not mean or want predictive text!!! This seems to be the standard answer asking about spell check....................... If i wanted Predictive Text I would ask for "Predictive text" But if I have not made my self clear yet......... I need "Spell Check"!
Now to Sam sung them selves:
I am up for an upgrade on my handheld in about 2 weeks.............. I was going for the Samsung S4................... Not if in some miraculous way Samsung will wake up and get "spell check" working

To those that say but other phones do not do the "red line spell check"
HTC
Blackberry
Iphone

ALL do it!

Samsung wake up!

Wrong, the BlackBerrys have spell check feature you can use AFTER you write the message, just as I am doing right now on the Web with Google Spell check. This feature makes a lot of sense and should be on all smartphones. I find it very distracting when the predictive spell check pops up every time I misspell, and I'd rather wait until AFTER I write the message to make my corrections. I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and, unfortunately, I have almost 2 years before I can go back to a BlackBerry, or someone wises up and buys the rights to speck check for Androids. Correct me if I'm wrong, but not about BlackBerry. I owned one a few years ago and would have upgraded to the BlackBerry 10 except for the troubles they are currently having, and decided to stay clear for a while.

Here is how to handle the problem folks ....
We were trying to send a message about Godiva Chocolate to a friend. Every time we typed in Godiva, the Samsung Keyboard auto corrected to "Go diva".
We were beside ourselves as this is only an example of other similar text messaging spelling issues.

On the Samsung Galaxy S4 ....
Tap "settings".
Tap "My Device" at the top of the display.
Scroll down to "Input and Control". Open it.
Tap the gear to the right of the Samsung Keyboard.
Turn off Predictive text.

That'll take care of it ....
Hope that helped.
