Where to buy LG urbane 2nd edition out right with no plan?

The only reason ppl want to use wearable plan is because it is cheaper, especially for those pay their own devices, e.g. has no family to form a family plan, not because it requires to. For example for a normal smartphone line, it is typically $30+/month. So, T-Mo's wearable plan is $15/mo, much cheaper than smartphone plan.

Even with the family plan, my smartphones are $15/mo vs $10/mo device/wearable plan. Carriers offer wearable plan as an incentive, not a requirement. They would love you to pay a full smartphone plan instead.

Now with the full standalone capability of future AW, I'd wonder if carriers will even continue to offer the wearable plan discount at all.

Hey people... Read:

Call tmobile and ask for a tech or engineer. Register your device as a gear s2. It will work with their wearable plan.

They have a list of the IMEID of the S2 they sell.
This won't work.
Until they open it up, forget it.

I saw it available from expansys usa the other day, but now it is not listed. I would keep an eye out there to see if they get more in. The price was pretty good too, forget exactly what but was less than I paid at AT&T.

I bought mine at an ATT Corporate store. Told them it was a gift. I then added it to my T-Mobile plan as a separate line ($10 month) with unlimited call/text & 2GB data. I already have a Gear S2 on a T-Mobile wearable plan.

I pay $10 vice $5 but am very happy. I run a lot and also leave my phone on my desk at work a lot, so having everything forwarded and never being disconnected works great for me.

I have my phone set up to instantly call forward whenever the watch loses BT connect (ie. I go for a run or walk away). When I walk back into BT connection range the phone automatically turns off call forward. Not quite numbersync, but I never have to open a program to tell my phone/watch what state to be in. I use a program called AutoMagic to do this. It runs a lot like Tasker.

Do you leave the cell on the watch turned on constantly or have you added an automated solution for the watch also?

On the watch I leave Cellular in Automatic. I don't have a program that can change the state of settings on the watch itself. AutoMagic controls most things on Android Phones.

I am not seeing a huge battery drain with cellular in automatic. I drain about 3%-3.5% per hour with cellular auto, location on, always on watch face, and numerous call/text/email/notifications.

3%-3.5% isn't bad. That's probably what I average normally with cell off. I only activate it, manually, and forward my calls when I run. What setup are you using to track runs?

The battery drain heavily depends on cell signal strength at your location. Mine will add additional minimum 10% of drain if I leave cell on because I consistently only getting one or two bars of signal on watch.

Cell reception does have a lot to do with battery drain when you have it on. The area I live in has very good coverage for T-Mobile (sim I use). I have traveled to other areas and seen my battery drain double or triple depending on coverage.

For running I don't really rely on the watch. I have a Garmin Vivoactive HR on my other wrist that cant be beat for running/GPS and HR monitoring. I do use my Watch for the phone capability and I stream downloaded music to my BT speakers while I run. The watch could carry the run tracking and HR, but I find it lacking and spotty. Sometimes Ghost runner works like a champ and other times I cant get a good GPS signal. I also dont get good HR results from the watch during runs.

I see. Yeah I wouldn't trust the built in HRM. I tried it a few times with inaccurate results. I have also connected a bluetooth chest strap monitor to the watch through Ghostracer and it is much more accurate. If I was consistently tracking HR with my watch, I'd go that route. I had spotty results with GPS sometimes, but since I started wearing a wristband under my watch (in addition to being paired to my phone remotely, I think it helps with data) it has been nearly perfect for a couple of months or more. I think sweat has an effect on GPS for this watch. I believe other watches, like the Sony android wear watch, have this issue also. I've never tried a dedicated running watch (used my phone before the LGU2), but I've read the vivoactive is pretty nice.

I ended up getting mine on Amazon through Z gadgets.

Initially went to the ATT store but they are all sold out. Only way to get it is online with ATTs plans and ridiculous activation fees. Anyhow initially ordered through another seller that shipped from Hong kong. They sent me the wrong model. LGw200 which does not have the GSM frequencies 850/1900 mhz that is needed for Tmobile. So be wary of the international sellers. Had a tough time having my money refunded. But in the end Z gadgets sent me the right LGw200a model.
