Hey there! I wanted to illustrate some useful pieces of info that you can give me to help support issues that may arise when running CM.

1. One of the most useful pieces of info is what build you're running on your device. Whether you're running a snapshot or a nightly (more than likely nightly) having the build number and/or date is a huge first step to identifying problems. You can find out this info by looking at the about phone page inside the settings of the device. Simply navigate to settings > about device and take a look there. I have included a screenshot of what you should see:

2. The next item that is helpful is to know what build or nightly you were running previously where you didn't see the issue that you are experiencing. We need this because CM doesn't take reports or tickets on nightlies without knowing the last good build. This helps us to narrow down what changes might have gone into the build that could be causing the issue.

3. Sometimes, I may ask you to provide a screenshot of what you are seeing. Taking screenshots with CM is pretty easy, but the ability to do so is no longer set up by default when flashing CM to your device. Taking a screenshot is done by long pressing the power button of your device. In the context menu that appears, you should have an option to capture a screenshot. If that does not appear, you simply need to change a setting.

Navigate to settings > buttons > power menu. From there you can turn on the ability to take screenshots. I have included a screenshot of the settings screen.

Hopefully these items are helpful. Looking forward to serving you!

Hi there, the best way to learn about modifications is to simply start doing it! You will have a lot of trial and error. One resource you have available is IRC, and t he cyanogenmod room. You can interact with people there, asking questions as you need. I would suggest doing a heavy amount of google research as well.

I have figured that out mostly. I have also been researching Cyanogen, that's why I'm so excited! I found an app that lets you get CM ROMs but won't use it until I checked it out.
