Every older phone is getting updated to the 4.1.2 jellybean. For our s3, that's a slap in the face. Any info about when or if we are getting this update?

after running a 4.2.2 Rom for awhile 4.1.2 is a huge step back. Also the upgrade to 4.1.2 is nothing huge

Unfortunately some of us use these as work phones, and have security policies limiting the ability to root and use it for work. So we're stuck waiting on the telco.

Shouldn't have to risk bricking phone for an update that's been out for months!!!! Not rolling in doe to buy new phone

Then get the S4

Wait till S4 sales slack. Then they will let your S3 have all the S4 stuff.

I think it's kind of inconsiderate to tell a person to just buy a new phone when they are asking about an update for their current phone. While suggesting root may be a viable option in some cases, it's not always the answer. Some people like to stay stock and unrooted. I myself like my phone rooted but I'll never bother rooting a OEM phone. I have a nexus 4 for all that.

Back to the subject at hand... It seems that AT&T may be foregoing the 4.1.2 update and going with the 4.2.2 update that is supposed to be pushed in July. All I can say for S3 owners is try to be patient. The S2 Skyrocket received an update not long ago. This device is far from dead from the update perspective.

You have the dumbest responses. Please stay off the forums.

Really? Cause I swear I see dummies like you posting "where's the update?" every few days and there is at least 6 threads covering the crying. "Get a custom ROM" or "Get the S4" are the only two real options at this point other than just being patient. Maybe you ask should do some research on it rather than sobbing about it? Call me crazy...

"Dummies like you"? I can't recall a time where I posted a thread asking when an update will be available. The guy who started this thread is stating that it's ridiculous that Samsung's and Androids biggest phone has yet to receive updates and older phone models are getting them. For you to tell someone to get a custom ROM and or buy a new phone is irrelevant to the post. I understand the only options are getting a ROM or a new phone but that shouldn't be the case for the biggest Android phone out there. It's dumb. But with all that said, I'm waiting for the next Nexus. These update waiting games are dumb

You are saying that it's irrelevant yet my options are the only ones available? Nice try on the burn

I agree, the risk is minimal as long as you read the instructions thoroughly. Only time I see people bricking their phones is when the rush and flash a ROM meant for another carrier

If they updated the note and s2, y can't they update the biggest selling phone on their network in a timely fashion!!!(Galaxy s4)!!!!
