Where's the Pedometer?

Can anyone tell me where to find the pedometer app? I found a running app the s health app and sliding over to the right on my watch there's one there but no way to set it for a specific walk that I can find. It seems to just count your total daily steps. Am I missing something? THANKS!

In the S-health app you can go to the far right, access settings, and set a daily goal for steps.

If you want to set goals for a specific walking exercise, open the S-health app, on the 3rd screen if you select the arrow you can access your exercises, from there choose walk, and in there you have goal options to choose from including calories time and distance. Don't believe you can set it for a specific step count though. Once you start your walk exercise the watch will give you information while you walk regarding speed, heartrate, time, etc.

Alternatively you can just start walking and the watch will auto track you (may have to have the healthy pace alert turned on in the settings). You will just get a log of time distance and speed on that at the conclusion.

There are also watch faces where you can start and stop the pedometer.

If you go for a walk, it will automatically add a workout if it meets a certain time criteria. The results will show up in s health on the phone and watch.

Best thing to do is set a daily goal. Also, the widget for s health breaks down your day into inactive, active, and healthy pace (grey, yellow, green) to show if you are just meandering vs walking at a cardio pace.

I don't like the S health thing at all. Not an exercise goal person. If you've had the Gear S that's the kind of pedometer I want. It keeps track automatically of your daily steps but if you push the walk it counts the walk only with a map and heart rate & some other stuff. These steps are included in the daily total but you can go back and view your walk maps, total step mileage for previous walks.

I'm not sure I understand the difference. Sounds the same to me as what the S2 offers.

You can have a widget set up to quickly start a walking exercise(may have to do a walking exercise first before the widget option appears) . And when you're done with the exercise it gets logged, map distance, speed, heartrate, etc.

Alternatively it can do it automatically like I mentioned before. It won't log a map in that instance, but it will automatically kick in after 10 min and give you a little buzz after ten minutes to let you know it's being tracked. When you're done walking it will log it into the app on your watch and your phone.

I do walks daily and I just use the widget if I'm going to do anything substantial. The only other health widget I have set up is the pedometer one so I can check my steps if I don't have one showing on my watch face.

There are watch faces in the Gear Manager that you can use to see the # of steps along with the time. Right now i'm using Modern Utility but I originally used the "digital" watchface.

Ahhh, found it thanks. I didn't dig deep enough into this option previously. I now have a pedometer 😊 on my watch face! It appears as though you can only have one added app on the face though at least on the 3 faces I tried.
