I just had to reset my Android phone back to factory because something was restricting my internet access on all browsers, so it must be a problem with the system. Which Android SYSTEMS app controls internet content?

What kind of restriction were you seeing? Did you see that on both wi-fi and mobile data? Some public wi-fi networks will have firewalls in place to restrict access to certain types of sites (e.g., work and school wi-fi will often restrict access to various kinds of entertainment or social media sites to reduce distractions for workers or students). if the problem is on mobile data, then what country are you in?

It just wouldn't let me access some websites that I regularly visit, not on wi-fi or mobile data, just posted a restricted message. It was like some sort of filter was being applied. I tried my laptop on the same wi-fi and it accessed fine. I tried another browser and still wouldn't access. Tried resetting my phone still no access. Decided to reset to factory and in still catching up but the internet now works fine. That's why I think it was some corruption of a systems app that governs internet access. Do you know the name of the systems app which handles internet connection? If it happens again I could just reset that app.

I'm not sure what that might have been due to. I would've suggested trying Safe Mode or using the Reset Network Settings option first before going to Factory Reset, but glad it's working again in any case!
