which Android Wear watch makes phone calls?

But it is not Android Wear!Even not Android watch.
BUT if you google smartwatch with calling features, you get a lot of results.
There are some Android watch has a microphone, but without a sim inserted you could not answer a phone call.
Also there are some smartwatch with a BT connection, you could make calls but these are non-Android watch.

Assuming you mean LG Watch Urbane and not LG Watch Urbane LTE, then you are not really making calls on your watch but rather using the watch as an interface to your phone (which is actually making the call).

There are a few watches which actually have their own SIM card and thus their own telephone number. These watches are capable of making and receiving calls completely independent of a paired smartphone. The LG Watch LTE is one; the Samsung Gear S is another.

To the best of my knowledge, the LG Watch Urbane LTE is still not available for sale in the US (only South Korea if I recall correctly).

I have the Samsung g2. It can call out and answer calls but... you have to pick up your phone to speak

Just joined this forum so if I'm out of touch with this reply my apologies.
I've got the asus zenwatch 2 and I can make and receive calls with perfect quality from my wrist. No it doesn't have its own SIM or number but I'm a bit confused by what the initial poster meant.
As for "no smart watch has its it's own speaker" what a load of rubbish !!! And this is supposed to be an " expert" although I will agree it was a post nearly 2 yrs ago and maybe you were right at the time of going to press ? So maybe I'm being rather harsh, sorry.
