which baseband?

Ok this has really been bothering me....i have been running thunderc custom recovery and the lego rom on my optimus but noticed a little while ago that although in about phone my sw version is listed as v9 my baseband says v8. seems i remember updating this a long time ago but now im not so sure?
What has to be done to update? go back to stock recovery and all then do a v9 update and reroot and all? is it even worth it?

May all be about nothin but its been stuck in my brain...lol

The baseband version is a hardcoded string in the rom. It isn't dynamically read from the isntalled baseband. If you upgraded to V9, you have the V9 radio, despite what the status screen says.
