Hi there!

I am an IT guy and am looking at moving from my iPhone 3Gs to a Droid but am having a difficult time deciding which one. I guess the best thing to do would be to give you a list of what I'm wanting and let you all recommend one to me.

Cisco VPN
MS Exchange sync (want it to sync email, contacts, and calendar)
Mobile Hotspot
Good Camera with flash
Verizon network (works best in my area)

If I have to, I'm not afraid of having to root or load other ROM's if need be to meet my criteria. I know I will have to do that anyway to do the mobile hotspot without having to pay the extra monthly fee.

All of your help is appreciated!
Thanks!

I think the Cisco VPN requirement pretty much locks you into the Droid Pro at this point. From my understanding it's the only one with Cisco VPN Out of the Box. I don't remember seeing any VPN apps that support Cisco in the market, but there may be something new I have not seen yet.

If the VPN is not a deal breaker, then there are a number of good options. The DInc, the X and the Droid 2 all come to mind. All have good cameras The X and the DInc can be rooted and ROM'd to add Wi-Fi tether, or they all come with VZW Hotspot now. Exchange is also pretty universal as well.

The best way to pick is to go to the store and play with all of them for an afternoon. I spend several hours in the store before settling on the DInc. I’m in IT and I can’t tell you how many times I have completely trouble shot and fixed a problem just using the phone. The platform is a Tech dream come true.

Hope this helps.

If you want to root and stuff like that, the dinc will fit you good.

Otherwise dx or d2
