I've been using LauncherPro on my Fascinate. I noticed that if I use that I can get rid of the Google search at the top and that it also removes the folders function. Anyone know what other big things we lose not using the stock launcher and which way you'll go?

I have launcherpro and ADW on my fascinate, but ive been using ICS stock for around a month.. im going LAUNCHERLESS.

imo the whole point of a pure google phone is to get the google experience.. a launcher is by no means the same thing.. and ICS doesnt work well with some of them.. i.e. ADW doesnt seem to show my widgets in its app drawer like ICS is set up to do.

With the stock launcher I miss the function of sliding the icon row from side to side to get to more apps I had at the bottom of the screen like with Launcher Pro. And, I can get rid of the search box to put my weather up there. :)

im going to run stock for a while, but if you want a custom launcher, try ADW EX. a recent update added a lot of ICS features (like the cool folders) while having a lot of the features a lot of users look for out of custom launchers, like a scrolling dock bar and the like

going with stock for now...

will give some of the devs time to perfect things before i start going nuts with the customization.

I plan to play around with the stock launcher for a while, even though I've become very accustomed to Go Launcher. From what I can tell, the stock launcher already does a lot of the stuff I'd want it to, anyway. The one thing I wonder about (and I'm guessing the answer is no), is if the stock launcher allows you to change the icons on your home screens. Again, I'd imagine the answer is no, but it's the one thing I REALLY like about other launchers, because it lets me "theme" my phone better.
