I'm starting to get ready to get a new phone - I've paid enough to AT&T that I can trade in and upgrade - and I'm not sure what to get. I've used LGs for a few years and always like them (the fingerprint sensor on the back is so convenient and reliable, the screen is good, the battery life is great), but I'm not sure now which model I ought to focus on. The dual screen thing seems kind of like a gimmick; the G8 is a year old and has goofy hand gestures; the G9 isn't out yet but will be expensive, although I'm waiting to see what it's like as I'm not in a big rush.

If you were an LG fan and were ready for a new phone, what would you get?

I should add that I'm currently on AT&T so it's not 100% clear they'll get the G9. I have a V35 which I've been ok with, but I liked the G6 much better.

If you like the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone, then you should get the G8. G8x has the in screen scanner. It works, but it's not fast. And from the leaks I've seen, the G9 might also have an in screen scanner. I like both the G8x and the G8, but it depends on how big of a phone you want. They both have great battery life. I've turned off the gesture functions on the G8, so it hasn't been an issue. I personally, like the G8 little better because of the smaller form factor, but you can't go wrong with both phones. Although the G8 is year older, I still think it's a great phone and very underrated. Also, you can find some really good prices on the secondary market. Check out swappa if you don't mind used phones. Att or Bestbuy might have some good deals available.

I agree, I think the G8 is a great phone especially with the Android 10 upgrade and the pricing on it right now makes it a great buy. The camera especially with the night sight works great and it has every thing that you would want in a premium smartphone except for the price.

Thanks! I'm going to look around to see if I can get it for less than what AT&T will charge me per month...

Check Best Buy for AT&T. I got two of them a few months back for $1 a month for 24 months. They were phone upgrades, no adding an extra line or any other strings attached.
