Which Messages App works best?

Hi all, ever since Android 10, I have had some confusion over which is the Best Messages App to use?
I have 2 that are preloaded and both are called the EXACT same name; Messages....? How do I tell which is the true Android Messages and if there is a difference then which one should be used? I am not sure if I did something to cause this or what?a
Any suggestions?

The one with three dots is Samsungs. The one with lines is Googles. I think those are the two you're talking about.

For "aftermarket" text messaging, I use Textra.

That looks like possible your stock Samsung message app but your theme changed it , unless you download another message app, open it up see if it looks like Samsung version inside

Okay, got it. THANKS.. So to be clear most use Google App for text messages? Any big diff?

I dont know if most use Google message app , I do for now until Samsung unlocked phones get RCS which google message has regardless carrier version or unlocked. If you have carrier version you have RCS which I would keep over goggle personally ,better layout and more features . Your welcome!

I use Google messages, the smart replies feature itself is worth using it. Google's apps have lots of smarts and nice touches unlike Samsung's which personally don't prefer at all.

Does Textra allow any type of Mirroring, with an Android and iOS phone? I have an iPhone for work...far as I can tell this is not possible?

I use Google Message, simple and effective. But I still dream with iMessage

I use Google Messages bc you can use it on multiple devices like a computer and an iPad. Textra is much better though but can only be used on your phone and works better with the Samsung Galaxy Watch.

When I’m at home I’ll use Google Messages. When I’m on the go or at work and not by my computer I’ll use Textra.

Before I was always using textra. Switched over to Google messages about 2 to 3 years ago and never looked back

About time they brought it back. They took it out in the One UI 1.0 update and all the Samsung owners went nuts. Including me.

So ...as far as we all know there is no way for me to Automatically forward all texts from my iPhone to my Galaxy S20 + . I am trying to be able to only carry my GS20+...
I can forward all calls, emails show on both phones, obviously...it's just this pesky text thing
I'll even settle for all texts from my iPhone to be AUTO forwarded to my email account but I can't find an app for that either...many thanks

That's why I use Google voice as my main number and I'll receive messages/calls on my all my devices simultaneously.
