Anyone using the stock app for messaging? I've been using Verizon messenger since it rolled over from my old phone.

I noticed this morning that the stock app doesn't have message scheduling, which is kind of a bummer, so I am wondering the same thing over here!

I switched back to Google messenger after using the LG app for a few days. I prefer the bubble look and like white text on colors.

I'm actually happy with the Verizon one. The only verizon app I use.

I use the Verizon app because it syncs up perfectly with my Samsung Tab S2 perfectly. So I can use my tablet for my G5 phone messages, as If i'm typing from my phone. Not sure if the others do that as well, but i'm really happy with it.

Switched from Google's Messenger app to Textra on my G4. No reason to switch on my G5.

I did the same on my S7 Edge. I used Google Messenger for a long time but finally switched to Textra. I used to use ChompSMS and I bought that pro version and it looks like it counts for Textra as well (same dev).

It's very fast and smooth.

I'm not sure if it was related to my Note Edge, but with third party sms, I wasn't able to send or receive mms and I would miss a few texts every day.. Has anyone noticed this with Textra?

I think this question should be rephrased to say:

"What messenger app is the fastest messenger out there" (wifi or signal)

Because I never had a good signal within our home. (Inside 1 bar/outside 3 bars) So I've been searching for a wifi/wireless messaging service.. otherwise, I'l keep the factory android messenger and set the phone near the rear window.. for the time being.

Same here for same reason ... Google is clean and fast and also looks eye catching as well :)

I've been using Contacts+ but I've noticed a huge lag in text delivery. Sometimes as long as 10 minutes and on the same carrier.

Can anyone explain what causes this?

Think about this. I text my wife. Of course she's on the same carrier and she's part of my circle. The text shows up ten minutes later. She's in the car next to me. I know that doesn't matter but still.

What if it was an emergency text.

Any suggestions?

I use stock messaging on my LG G3, but I have used Textra in the past, which was wonderful. I highly recommend them! You gets lots of customization and the developers are on the ball.

The Verizon app also allows me to place and receive WiFi phone calls on my iPad or any other backup phone its installed on.
