I've been telling myself for years that I need a tablet with a mobile data connection. However, I've never actually used it... So, I'm going with the 32gb WiFi model.

Which one are you getting?

The 32GB option is attractive because it's not significantly more expensive, as higher-capacity devices have tended to be. I'll be going with the 16GB though.

32gig wifi here also, I gave some thought to LTE version, but really I dont use my tablet while out and about really. If I really needed to go online with it, I will hotspot my phone.

I was thinking of getting the 32GB Wi-Fi one.

Has anyone used a data tablet before? How must does it cost per month from the carriers/Is it worth the cost?

I think I'll stick with the 16 gig, since the extra money I will save can be put towards cases and accessories. 16 gig is still a huge improvement over the 8 in my current tab.

Leaning towards the 16 but the price isn't bad at all for the 32 gig

The amazing galaxy s3 :D

32GB LTE. I've wanted the Nexus 10, but the lack of LTE connectivity pulled me away. The Nexus 7 with LTE is perfect for me, it will come in handy and will not require to have my phone setup as a hotspot. I am also toying with the idea of making it my personal smartphone, I carry two devices already, my personal S3 and a LG something work smartphone.

16GB Wifi here. I need a lot of space on my phone for local storage of music. My tablet is only used for reading books and news. I may load the occasional movie or game on a tablet, but I am not much of a gamer anymore. 16GB will be plenty for me.

Probably the 32gb wifi. I can teather with my phone if needed. Considering the 16gb wifi, as most of the time I don't run out of space on the current 16gb N7.

In a day and age where unlimited data can be tethered from a rooted mobile, I don't see the big deal about LTE unless you don't have a rootable smartphone or do not want to delve into the world of rooting (not that difficult coming from someone with little experience) but that's nothing more than an opinion. I'm living outside of the US for another year so it's irrelevant to me.

16gb wifi coming from someone who has finally committed to the cloud concept, it's plenty of space unless you want to dl movies/music instead of purchasing on play & streaming them. That's what a laptop is for.

QFE:
in a world where apple sees 16GB memory modules costing $100, and where Verizon charges more than ATT for the 32GB galaxy s 4, at least we know Google/Asus has some common sense.

I think most people leave their tablets at home (often sitting on the couch), so it's probably not worth getting a data plan for a tablet unless you regularly leave the house with it. Even then, a lot of people tether their tablet to their smartphone.

As for the costs, here are some figures to give you an idea:

AT&T
250 MB for $14.99/month
3 GB for $30/month
5 GB for $50/month

T-Mobile
300 MB for $15/week (7 days)
1.5 GB for $25/month
3.5 GB for $35/month
5 GB for $50/month

Verizon
1 GB for $20/month
2 GB for $30/month
5 GB for $50/month
10 GB for $80/month

These prices may change once the 2013 Nexus 7 goes on sale. Also, there may be mobile data sharing plans that you can use if you already have a smartphone with a particular carrier.

32 GB WiFI. If I really need a data connection, I'll just use my phone as mobile hotspot. Most of the places I visit nowadays have WiFi available anyways.

16 gb wifi.... I have unlimited data plus 512gb hotspot on my t-mo phone when I need it, and almost all my music is via Google All Access streaming and video via streaming from netflix and Amazon so that amount of storage should be fine.

Would've gotten the LTE model if it were available but I really have no need for it and it would just be a temptation to spend more money with AT&T.
