I from the BB Bold to the D2 because the Bold wouldn't keep a signal and kept dropping calls. I just got my D2 last night and loving it. The keyboard is a little different and is gonna take sometime to get use to but I know I will.

Former BB Storm2 user

I'm switched yesterday from the Storm2 (about 1 year) and before that I was using a Windows Mobile 6.5 custom ROM.

Over the summer when I decided I would use my upgrade on a Droid. The main reasons were that I wanted a bit more choices for apps than the Storm2 has and I wanted a better browsing experience. Happily, I see the D2G has the 3G Mobile Hotspot (and Verizon isn't trying to charge me my other arm and leg).

Very important was the ability to tether the 3g connection for those hotels that still charge for internet access. I was pretty sure I'd be getting the Droid X when my upgrade date came up, I was really looking for a bigger screen.

Of course, in the fall I was sent to Europe for six weeks and the CDMA/GSM radios in the Storm2 proved indispensable. This eliminated the Droid X from consideration and put the D2G in my hands. :)

I will see, I very much miss the push notifications of the BlackBerry. Now, I have to go looking for updates in may different places instead of receiving instant notifications.

Just switched my Wife and I over from a Palm Pre Plus. We are both loving our D2s and even though its only been 3 days I am so glad to have dropped WebOS!

I came from a BB Tour and very happy I made the switch. I was hesitant at first because I used my BB mostly for messaging and email and I bought into the hype that android was not very good for that. I was wrong. I have a D2 and absolutely love it. It does all that my BB did and then some. I do miss BBM though. My wife still has a BB so we r using Gtalk which is not near as nice as BBM. Most of my friends still have BBs and they have basically given me the finger when I have suggested they install Gtalk. My new mission is to convert as many to android as I can.

Just got my D2G on Tuesday. Switched from a BB Tour which trackball decided it wouldnt scroll down. So I couldnt get to any of my apps read emails or txt messages. I couldnt even turn off the alarm, had to pop out battery for 2hrs after the time for the alarm to go off. Chose Android and D2G because was impressed with what my coworkers DX and G1 could do over what my Tour couldnt. I like now that I can post on sites like these and look at pics on facebook. Also wanted a keyboard since I miss way too much with the onscreen one. Love my D2G battery seems to be about the same as with my Tour so its ok.

I had a Devour (it devoured battery life)...

In a normal work day a devour would have to be charged at least once, and it would only have 40 percent left when I went home, even after a charge.

I've had my droid for 2 days and with one hour left to go I'm still sitting at 70 percent battery life, couldn't be happier.

went from an early model G1 to a droid 2 global. Dropped T-mobile and there almost non existent 3g for a fast reliable 3g system.

Switched from BB Bold 9650 to r2d2! I love my new phone. Still getting use to it... I also bought into the hype that only BB had solid email and messaging...Wrong!!! My r2 has been running like a champ!

Just ordered D2G. Coming from Blackberry Bold 9000. Will be quite different, but looking forward to the change.

Just got the D2G. Coming from BB Storm 9550 and so far android its making Blackberry look awful

Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using Tapatalk

I switched from AT&T's Captivate with crappy service and lack of support to VZW and the D2G

Like a lot of folks, I left a blackberry behind (the 8900), but in my case I was more interested in switching to Verizon than to android per se (AT&T is awful where I live and all AT&T told me was to pay an arm and a leg for an early upgrade so I could buy a 3G microcell). Had been waiting for a while for a non-BB world phone on Verizon so I jumped the D2G came out. Thus far, I am very pleased with it (I briefly tried the Captivate on AT&T but thought it too big and it had a terrible battery life).
