Which phone did you trade in to BB for the $200 credit?

Re: My BestBuy Purchase Experience

My BestBuy gets a big fat fail for not having any of the pre-order phone in today. Kind of sad because I had planed on setting it up this afternoon after work.:(

Re: My BestBuy Purchase Experience

I brought an iPhone 3gs to them yesterday hoping it would qualify, but learned after they took the case off that my 11 year old had broken the volume rocker, so no go. My only other option was to trade in a Lumia 1020, but those are still going for 200.00 or better on Ebay, so not the best phone for a 200.00 gift card. Desperate, I searched craigslist for another IPhone 3, but realized, it wouldn't happen in time. So finally, in a last ditch effort, I went to Walmart and bought a T-Mobile ZTE Zinger phone that was marked down from 40.00 to 20.00 and brought this with me to BestBuy. I'm not sure if it was on their approved list, but they took it, and I got my 200.00 gift card. YMMV

Re: My BestBuy Purchase Experience

Hey kodos78, were you able to transfer your contacts properly from your Microsoft account to your Android Phone? I get like a lot of copies and random email addresses... but I mean I synced my contacts from my hotmail account and somehow that's what I get. Its a bit untidy but even when I try to delete it just resyncs them. On my Microsoft Phone its not at all like that.

See that's the stuff that makes me
mad. The bestbuy I pre-ordered of course says that no t-mobile which I know is a lie not to mention their trade in system is down. They are turning this into one stressful release for me.

Re: Can't use $200 trade in at Best Buy without activation unlike last year

So I'm pretty pissed right now. Just left Best Buy after waiting to pick up my Note 5. I was going to be making an outright purchase with a trade in just like last year for the Note 4. They told me that they changed the policy from last year and if you are buying outright you will not qualify for $200 promotion. Full price it has to be. Guess they got wise after last year. With full ATT price +tax it's 900+ so no note for me today. And I'm stuck with a $50 BB gift card I don't need.

Yep... they told me the same thing, so I agreed to the AT&T Next plan with the 30% down payment, traded in a Verizon Moto E (bought for $30 about 3 months ago and never activated), and then used the $200 plus 2 other GCs to cover the down payment and get the 64GB. That got me the free wireless charger also. If you're flipping your old phone on your own, you can just walk into AT&T and pay off the balance of the phone at any time.

This phone is an absolute beast BTW. The look, the screen, the camera... The design/performance boost across the board is immediately noticeable. Time will tell, but I don't think there will be any doubt that this is the best phone I've ever had.

Just got home and Best Buy did take my LG L90 for $200.00 , a $45.00 and a wireless charger . Can't beat that deal..

I tried to trade a palm pre in. I was told they would not accept it because I bought the phone outright and not on contract or edge. I told them they need to train their staff better because I specifically asked when I pre ordered and said no problem then the guy helping the line out having us fill out paper said the same thing. Got up there tuff crap and a sorry we can't do anything is all I got.

Traded in the 2013 Moto X. I was going to look for something cheaper, but didn't want to chance the whole postpaid only thing. It's only with about $75-$100 on eBay anyway.

I planned on paying for it outright with an $800 gift card I have from a geek squad claim, but had to do the Next plan. I was able to do a $222 down payment though, plus use the gift cards for the taxes.

I wouldn't want to do a 2 year contract for the gift card and wireless charger, but if you sign up for AT&T next, you can just pay the phone off anyway through AT&T, so what's the big deal about paying in full vs the next program?

Got to BestBuy at 10 this morning and didn't have any issues trading in my Droid DNA for the gift card. For some reason though they discounted the price of the phone(bought outright) by $135 and then gave me a $65 gift card(how much the DNA was actually worth on their trade in system) which was put towards the phone. Got the free wireless charger too, now I just have to sell my S6 edge.

buzzy3970,,,,,They took my T-Mobile trade-in because I'm with ATT and it is a postpaid phone. It's a ZTE Zinger Z677T. Walmart has them on sale for 19.99, marked down from 39.99. FYI, the man sitting next to me noticed what I was doing and wanted to leave and go by the phone and come back, but it would not have worked for him because he was with Verizon. His Best Buy rep, instead found one in the store on BB's shelf that would work with Verizon as a trade-in. It cost him 40.00, but at least he didn't have to trade in his Galaxy S something. Hope this helps.

OK- I mentioned this in another thread- basically same as above with BB. For the Credit- you HAD to purchase on ATT Next, and then the most you could pay down was $222(for the 32 Gig model). Trade in systems were down for a while, and also got a $45 Activation rebate.

Oh- and the $50 gift card we had to buy for pre-order...thats now sitting here too- what a waste- or a way to get you to spend more $$$ with them.
Total $$ you had was $200 from Trade Credit, $45 gift cert for Activation rebate, and then the $50 gift card they made you buy to pre-order. Buying the 32 Gig ATT model- the MOST $$$ you could put down was $222. You now have these other 2 Gift Certs to use on accessories(like you really wanted to in the first place).

I bought a Boost ZTE Speed at target. And since I added a new line (wanted a new number), I activated the phone for one day on Boost, ported the number to Verizon ($100 credit) and then got $200 for trading in the ZTE smartphone. All at my local Verizon store. Easy peasy :)

EDIT: I didn't go through BB bc of the fine print about prepaid phones.

Well just left Best Buy and if it wasn't for the $200 gift cars I would have gone to the carrier. Systems were all screwed up and I h ave to go back to trade in the phone. I did get the charger and phone which I have to say is quite stunning. Its fast and the screen is about as clean as it can get. As for the battery nothing scientific here but I messed with the phone some and took a call for 30 minutes and have used 5% battery. The device has been online for 3 hours. I think Samsung might have a winner here.

I had them simply do the normal trade in for my HTC One M7(19$), and then they simply discounted the cost of the phone 181$ to make up for their systems being down. As the systems were a complete piece of **** this morning :P

I told them I lived an hour away, and drive a truck(so I am gone for long periods of time), and if they wanted me to come back I would go down the road to the sprint store and purchase it...................So they did the above mentioned method for me.

When I went back they tried to say the same thing and I told them it's compete bs their the only ones that don't accept the tmobile trade in. Make the long sorry short I made her show me how she was entering it and guess what it took the trade in. Had to buy a zinger there for 30 but got the credit and also because of her screw up it didn't use my upgrade so now I still have one available so I guess it wasn't all too bad :-)

I traded in a old iPhone 4s got the 200 and 200 for adding a new line of service

Glad it all worked out for you! I also had to endure the trade-in server down time like many others, so I was sweating whether the ZTE would actually go through, but after a couple of hours, it made it. At least, they gave the whole family Samsung t-shirts.

Re: Can't use $200 trade in at Best Buy without activation unlike last year

Just got back from Best Buy. Traded in this LG LS670 running android 2.2
LG LS670.jpg

and picked up this 64gb black Note 5
New Note 5.jpg

Nice thing is I found that old LG in a nightstand drawer, was worth nothing, but got a $200 gift card for it on this deal. As an added bonus through At&t, since I added a new line of service, I got another $200 gift card. Picked up a Zagg hd glass and a tech 21 evo tactical case. Pretty happy with the deal. Gotta get it a set up now.

Yes, success! They accepted my HTC Thunderbolt. $200 gift card and wireless charger. Black (Looks blue to me) 64GB Note 5
