Android Central Question
I used to have an iPhone 6 PLUS. It worked great but I did not enjoy the iOS updates because they removed compatibility with my car's stereo system. My daughter wanted a phone so I gave her my iPhone 6 Plus and decided to buy, after a ton of research, a One Plus 6 cell phone. The display is "average" inside my house, but it is terrible to see the screen outside, even on a cloudy day. It's not just terrible, it is IMPOSSIBLE to see the display. Therefore I can't use the camera outside which makes the phone worthless. I was told that I needed to turn on "Adaptive Brightness" because it could be even brighter than the 100% brightness. I've tried and it's not nearly good enough to even by usable. Then I found a One Plus Forum Thread from tons of users that said that One Plus turned down the MAX brightness to save on battery drainage. So even when turned to 100% brightness, it is only at about 60-70%. So, I've read that OLED displays need to be REALLY bright to work outside. I know AMOLED is the new technology but it doesn't mean it is better. My iPhone 6 Plus always looked great outside. I briefly used a MOTO G5 PLUS but it was too small and my son uses it now. It works just fine outside and in my opinion even indoors, his display looks better than my AMOLED display. So, are both the iPhone 6 Plus and Moto G5 Plus both LCD screens? I'm going to sell my One Plus 6 and buy a cheap basic phone that works outside. Should I be looking at LCD phones? Is one brand or model better than the other? And please don't recommend a Samsung Galaxy. I hate the layout and I'm just not a fan. I'm wanting a budget phone but I'm having a hard time finding a budget phone that supports all USA LTE Bands. Please let me know. Thanks!
