Which phone has the best GPS??

Of the phones I've owned... S3, Nexus 5 & 6, LG g3, the Nexus 6 has been the quickest to get locked on and then hold it.

I also believe that GPS from all major manufactures is mostly accurate. You should choose one which has better battery backup so you can use GPS for longer duration with any Data Connection.

I didn't have any issues with accuracy on the other phones... once they established satellite lock, they were all pretty much as spot on. My issues were always related to how quickly they could get that lock and how tenacious they were in holding on to it. I use Waze on my commute and with the SIII and Nexus 5, it would take a little bit of time to finally get position, and it would drop out on my drive... the Nexus 5, in particular, would lose lock and I'd have to hold the phone up to the window a bit to get it back. The SIII was often unreliable as well... The G3 wasn't too bad... but the Nexus 6 has been the best performer.

The Nexus 6, it would get lock pretty much as soon as the Waze app would finish initializing and it would hold it steady while sitting there on the passenger's seat. And it also does a pretty good job of getting a lock even in conditions where GPS often has issues, such as indoors. I can only assume that to mean the GPS receiver is a lot more sensitive than the other phones.

The battery is removable from any phone...but why would you want to do that. It won't work without it.

Great advice, if you upgrade phones every 2 years, but if you want the help the environment and keep your phone, changing the battery is a good option.
Also, around here there are shops that will replace non-replaceable batteries.

I want to buy a new phone and GPS is really important cause I travel a lot, I also want it with great performance. 300-350$ max, I was thinking HTC one max, HTC one mini, GS3..

OK yes I strongly agree with the others that Motorola would have the best gps I have a note 3 and I'm highly disappointed with the gps because of my job and traveling I'm going back to Motorola next upgrade

Can you please give some info on which mobile brand / model has fastest and accurate gps fix capabilities .

as Ingress player, in which I usually spend hours a day by intensively using GPS and WiFi Location, I can absolutely confirm that Moto G (in my case 2013's very first model) has the best GPS module/receiver/antenna.
GPS Status says that it got 3-5 (at worst) meters of inaccuracy.

on the other side I've used a lot a day one Nexus 5 which had good GPS signal at first, becoming worse month after month.
recently I've tried some hw fixes but sadly I noticed that GPS signal even without the shell/antenna rear cover was the same!!

so my advice is to not buy a Nexus5/LG

Hello, greetings to all, I wanted to ask a question, now what is the Android smartphone with GPS is more accurate and reliable ?

Is there any site that performs specialized tests on the various GPS smartphone ?

Of the phones I've owned, the two with the best GPS performance has been the Nexus 6 (Motorola) and Nexus 6P (Huawei). Both pretty much lock on quickly, hold a location and both with equal accuracy.

Both the Nexus 5 and LG G3 that I've used... neither impressed me all that much, maybe LG doesn't put a lot of effort into the GPS tuning, dunno. In particular, the Nexus 5 would sometimes be a little sluggish to find a lock and I'd lose it a fair amount. On my drive home, it'd lose contact and I'd have to hold it up to the window for it to establish a reading again.... it had a hard time keeping lock if it was sitting on my seat.

As far as my knowledge is concerned, only iPhone has the best GPS connectivity. it shows the exact location as compared to any other handset.

Tried three Honor 6 phones and returned them all. Rarely found GPS signal and almost always it was soon lost. Mostly pointing an average 30 degrees wrong way. Now trying out LG G3. Some of my navigations where ok, but other times got a signal only a couple of times on a 5-10 minute drive. This phone is also going back as I can not rely on it. My friends old 100 € samsung works the best out of the bunch. Would be really nice to know which phone under 300 € is good for navigation. My S3 worked well for about two years but now having some problems with that one as well.

In November I bought an LG G3 Stylus Dual Sim. The GPS just didn't work, and nothing I can do will make it work. GPS is very important to me, I use it in the car, walking, on the bike, and it must work in bad weather, which we have a lot of. Turns out the 'warranty' is as much use as a chocolate teapot as well.

After reading this page I bought a Motorola G XT1541 on eBay. The GPS is just stunning. Got a fix on the SatNav in 3 seconds in a rainstorm (double speed wipers). On a trip, heavily overcast and I am seeing 6 metres accuracy. It is a replacement for my old HTC Desire HD and it is in a different league of performance. On a recent trip with a colleague, again in bad weather, her iPhone was getting nothing useful and my Motorola G was holding a fix at never worse than 13 metres (that I saw). Driving in storms with the SatNav rock solid is a wonderful improvement, rock solid in the sense that it doesn't suddenly say 'turn left now' without any warning as you go past the junction, because it has just caught up and re-fixed.

I agree with some of the comments above, that the issue is not accuracy, but the ability to quickly acquire a satellite and hold the connection. When I switched from a Galaxy S3 to an LG G3 a bit over a year ago, I found the LG G3 to have much better performance.

They "fixed" my LG G3. Navigation worked ok for a couple of hours and then gradually did not. Hope to get my money back, but I bet they will "fix" it again. Probably going for Motorola Moto G 3rd gen when the shop gets tired of me and gives my money back. Has anyone had trouble with Moto G?

You would rather charge 2 or more batteries than have one phone with one battery that can last just as long as the 2? Removals batteries don't last forever either. More often than not, phones with removable batteries has shorter battery life. If your navigating in a vehicle at that, a car charger would be ideal in the first place.

He was talking about the battery eventually no holding a charge you goob. When that happens the whole phone is trash if it can'take be replaced.
