Which phone has the best GPS??

I take exception to those that say accuracy is about the same with all phones.

I use my Galaxy S6 Active with iCardio app to record my walking. I walk a known course of 2.5 miles daily. Most of the time I was satisfied with the results. However, after the android upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0 (lollipop to marshmallow), accuracy has suffered. All results now are understated. Yesterday, I finished my walk and it showed I had walked 2.4 miles. 528 feet over 2.5 miles is terrible accuracy.

I value my exercise logs - recording time, distance, heart rate (with heart rate monitor), calories expended. Having questionable distance measurements is a bummer for me. GPS will be the major consideration on my next cell phone.

I'm looking forward to Galileo global navigation satellite system, but it is years away. It is supposed to be more accurate than the present U.S. gps.

In the interim, have you cleared cache and/or factory reset? Hopefully that helps with your accuracy.

"factory reset. Hopefully that works"

Sounds like you don't know that a factory reset will work. I hate to do a factory reset just to see if that will fix things.

I do appreciate your input though.

Isn't this an impossible question to answer unless you have several phones active on the same network at the same time?

FWIW, my LGV10 has been every bit as good as the Xperia Z3 and iPhone 5C it replaced on verizon. In my area cell coverage never gets better than 3G-2/5 bars.

GPS is fairly accurate, no matter who manufactures it. Standard GPS accuracy is 15 meters, and in the US, it is about 8 meters.

Cell phones also combine GPS accuracy with cell and wifi signals to help get a more precise location.

Not true, I have an lg 90 and half the time it can't find a signal, odd as there are so many satellites, when it does find one I'm lucky if it's accurate within 300 feet. Luckily I need to get a new phone soon.I used to have a nokia lumia and it always had great GPS and was accurate within 2 feet some times

as Ingress player, in which I usually spend hours a day by intensively using GPS and WiFi Location, I can absolutely confirm that Moto G (in my case 2013's very first model) has the best GPS module/receiver/antenna.
GPS Status says that it got 3-5 (at worst) meters of inaccuracy.

on the other side I've used a lot a day one Nexus 5 which had good GPS signal at first, becoming worse month after month.
recently I've tried some hw fixes but sadly I noticed that GPS signal even without the shell/antenna rear cover was the same!!

so my advice is to not buy a Nexus5/LG

I too am an Ingress player that was brought to this thread while looking for a new phone. I pretty much have my heart set on the OnePlus-3 and was wondering if it's GPS was better than my LG G2. Worst GPS signal ever.

Hey I also have Moto G4 Play and I must say that I had got some worst gps experience. This device gets its accuracy from three different system (gps, glonass and bds).
