Which Rom is your Favorite?

I'm a huge fan of the midnight series. Haven't had the best of luck with truly epic though. From not being able to update PRL and profile, to not receiving voicemails. Your milage may vary of course. I'd definitely go for anything supporting the ext4 file system as it makes a noticeable difference in performance.

Tonight I returned back to TER from midNIGHT and I feel right back at home. I still think midNIGHT is an excellent ROM but naturally I have a connection to TER.
Anyways again I tried it, updated PRL & Profile. Voicemails recieved as expected. Another one of those unknown random bugs for some people I guess..
I'm with Paul, I started on TER thanks to all the great support to get up and running with custom rom, and really like it. Got froggy and decided to try flashing since I felt confident on how to do things and fix things if broken, running Midnight.
I like both, both are stable and fast. Quadrant is faster on Midnight, launcher is cooler on TER.
I honestly can't tell much difference, I have read the specs but to me, what I consider a normal user who just wants a fast, customizable phone, they don't tell me a lot

well, i personally prefer midnight over ter. seems to run a little smoother. both are great however.
i havent flashed my phone yet, just because I want to know which rom would be best... My question is... can you change the wallpaper either ter midnight and viperrom? or should I just go for CyanogenMod, which i hear its the most simple rom that is tech stock, but is a rom that you could customize yourself.

@dontpokedapanda, you can try them all.. Your only talking about time to download the ROM but otherwise switching ROMs, getting your apps loaded back up and things rolling only takes 10-15 mins tops....
Basically what I'm saying is its very easy to test drive these ROMs, especially now with the Android Setup Wizard in Froyo that automatically backups and restores your apps/settings when changing ROMs.
You can change wallpaper or themes, addon's, whatever you choose. Its all just a "flash" away..

Truly Epic Rebirth here. Only one I've tried.
Anyone know if loading too many launchers causes problems? I'm a launcher geek and have MOST of them on the phone- but only 1 running at a time. I use either HomeManager or HomeSmack to switch- but my phone was running a lot more efficient when I only had a few. Doesn't make sense to me how these could affect performance when not running... but I'm really frustrated by the slow hangups I've seen this past week or so. (I wonder if ADW EX or Go Ex were what did it...)
Also, on Quadrant, I've only scored in the 1400's but I've seen many others post better on TER... also confusing.

Hello everyone, I new to the Rom scene and would like some help on how to flash my epic. I'm on Mac and didn't know if there's any software for it. I don't care about being able to do lots of customizing the phone just want something different, the stock rom is slow. Just wondering what u guys would recommend I install. Thanks in advance.

I'm not a Mac user but I believe you can use the methods we provide here but I believe it will require you to use Windows Bootcamp on your Mac and a copy of Windows XP to do. Our moderator Ragnarokx is a Mac user so he will be able to provide better information.
New to the Android World
I am totally new to android phones and any type of customization period of a phone. I have been reading and watching youtube clips on all the ROMS and customizing of the Epic. I still dont see anything that list what each ROM does and doesnt do. Also I see alot of people talking about TER and Midnight, but not too much on Viperrom. Just from the Youtube videos I have seen of the 3, I leaning towards Viperrom. Can anyone give me some insight and why in the Poll Viperrom is so low?

I'm really not sure why Viper is not more popular. I never have installed Viper. Why not sure.. I do know they seem to have a very professional, well skilled team of developers working on the ROM. They have their own built in custom theme builder to completely customize things to your exact likings. That is about all I know about the rom, just what I have read about it.
I cant speak for everyone, but i feel like the reason its so low is cause its kind of an annoying processes to actually get it running. I failed on multiple occasions in installing it. managed to make it work once. but by then i got emotionally attached to TER =]
Viper-Rom looked the most appealing when i started. I'm still learning, so having a ROM that was a "insert word here" to install, i was kind of afraid of messing something up and having to spend another 3 hours just reinstalling it. like i mention, I'm still a noob, so the multiple fails in installing pushed me away from it.
Ive tried multiple ROM so far, and from a noob stand point. TER seems like the best one to start off with. (while messing with each ROM, I've had less FC with TER than any other.)
