The Trully Epic rom is a good starter rom its nice and clean and pretty cool looking. But after flashing the Midnight rom all I can say is wow! This rom is awesome its fast smooth and includes a lot of cool features and useful apps. The developer really did an awesome job both of them. One of the first things I noticed was the smooth boot animation and the really high quadrant scores but even after running it for a while I still find it to be very fast and responsive. To try to describe the feel it has the smoothness of the nexus line with the power of the hummingbird its awesome. Try it!!!

Love the new midnight 3.3 I think its the best Ive tried fast and smooth.

Opinions needed on the best froyo rom?

Looking to root and install a froyo rom (tired of waiting for samsung) so based on your experience what do you guys think is the best rom that can atleast go a full day on a charge?

Stability and atleast 1 day of battery life is a plus.

Stick with 2.1. If you want a custom ROM, then go with Syndicate 1.02. I'm currently using MidNIGHT 2.2, and I wish I hadn't upgraded from 2.1 (and Syndicate). While the GPS is much more exact in 2.2, it sometimes turns off for a few seconds.... Sometimes if you call someone you wont hear anything and they wont hear you. Hitting the speaker button fixes, this, but sometimes it'll also hang you up....
I've tried to downgrade to 2.1, but my Market wont download once I reconnect my gmail.com account to the Market. It works in 2.2, but not 2.1 =(

So, if you enjoy playing with the phone, and are OK with some downtime, and beta testing, then go ahead, but other than that.... forget about it.

So are you saying that all roms suck or your just having bad luck with that particular rom? Anyone else care to chime in on this. I was considering the trulyepic rebirth rom since it appears to be the majority favorite.

Not only that but they have a data governer killer baked into the rom. What is that? Well like a golf cart (yes i do golf), there is a thing in the golf cart called a governer and what it does is if you're going too fast, it will slow your golf cart down. Now if you take out the governer, you will go way faster! Now just apply that to data speeds!

I cant speak for everyone, but i feel like the reason its so low is cause its kind of an annoying processes to actually get it running.

They fixed that in the updated version of this custom ROM. Now it's just like your standard custom ROM, install it through CWM once and you're done!
