Sorry, overdue reply. Yes, Pulse has, IMHO, more customizability than Textra. I have custom notification tones for select people (e.g. "Mary is texting me," a voice recording). I can blacklist or schedule messages, create folders, do group messages, have password-protected private chats. Like other Android text apps, it writes out longhand when an iPhone user "likes" something, but I think that's currently unavoidable. The only other glitch is that, every once in a while, the web app, which I use constantly, opens without the history from my phone. Usually a restart fixes this. Had a similar issue with Android Messages last year, but that was far more frequent.
