Which SMS app is everyone using?

What is the best messaging app to use to get high quality video/pictures from iphone users? Does android messages now support RCS or what about Facebook messenger when linked for sms
I've been trying to figure this out too. I haven't yet found a messaging app to do this. It's frustrating as my family use iPhones and the compression is awful. It never happens iPhone to iPhone, but does with Android. I just use Textra now as it's a little better than default Samsung messages app, but the problem persists.

I want to try Pulse still but haven't. Textra is on my phone so I may switch back to it. I just miss text tones for contacts and I liked how way back you had circle favorites at the top of the app.

Any app that uses the SMS/MMS standard is not going to be able to pass high quality video/pictures. This is a limitation of the standard.

You do know that you can "Pin" your favorite conversations to the top right? I know you can on the stock app as well as Textra. Maybe that helps you.

Mood. I tried stock, Textra, and Yaata, and it does everything I want. Plus, it transferred over every single one of my ridiculous number of SMS & MMS messages over to my new phone on a clean install.

Question for all,

I use mySMS because I can use it on my Samsung GS10 w/ AT&T, my Pixel 3 on TMo and my iPad... and on my Windows Laptop.
Does Textra and Yaata do all that as I am not familiar with them?
Thanks in advance for your knkwledge and help.

Yes I do that sometimes but I just like how in the beginning when I got my 7 Edge it had circles up top in a row for favorites. But my main concern is certain text tones for people that is why I need to switch from stock. I wish they would bring it back to contacts.

You can set custom tones per message, unfortunately I do not believe it saves to contact just that particular message

Yes it's not the same when you do it that way it deletes the custom tone if you delete the the thread. :-(

I just got my S10+ a couple of days ago and I thought I might try the stock Samsung app but there's no way to adjust the font size bigger ONLY for that app without making it bigger elsewhere. So I went back to Textra where you can increase the font size without affecting anything else.

You can pinch the screen to adjust the font size in the stock sms app

I've been using Next SMS across 3 platforms: Note4, GS8+, and now GS10+. No issues at all and it keeps long texts together rather than breaking them up.

So besides being able to do text via your computer does it pretty much have the same functions as Textra like tones for certain people. I use the stock now and have Textra on my phone and used to use it. I also have the Galaxy watch which I don't know if Pulse would work. Every so often I'll be sending a picture with the stock and it doesn't send as quick as I want it too but that could just be signal problems in our house. We switched from Sprint to Verizon and it's been so much better though for the most part for me husband still has problems and sent his phone back to Samsung today for repair.

Sorry, overdue reply. Yes, Pulse has, IMHO, more customizability than Textra. I have custom notification tones for select people (e.g. "Mary is texting me," a voice recording). I can blacklist or schedule messages, create folders, do group messages, have password-protected private chats. Like other Android text apps, it writes out longhand when an iPhone user "likes" something, but I think that's currently unavoidable. The only other glitch is that, every once in a while, the web app, which I use constantly, opens without the history from my phone. Usually a restart fixes this. Had a similar issue with Android Messages last year, but that was far more frequent.

One more thing: I highly recommend SMS Backup & Restore. It's the only near-flawless way I've found to move texts from phone to phone or restore history in the event of a reset. I have mine back up daily to Dropbox.

Thanks! I think I may try it now. Will it work with my galaxy watch do you know? I'm trying it now I'm guessing you paid for the one time lifetime? I am doing the free 7 day trial and then I am billed 99 cents but will buy the lifetime if I like it. So I'll be able to regular text from my Samsung Chromebook and Windows 10 PC?

I am editing this post but I didn't realize but I guess their is no texting app where the text tone stays that you make even after deleting the thread? Cause I can just use Textra if I wanted I still have it. Don't really need to text from PC or Chromebook my phones always with me. I just thought the text tone you gave someone would stick even after deleting thread guess I wasn't thinking cause I don't think any app does that right?

While stock gives you more options over look an feel, I have to go with El Goog's Messages because they allow me to build a send to list as large as I want.

So I do without dark theme or any other customization capability, because the company famous for that very thing has decided their app doesn't need any.
