Which SMS app is everyone using?

I've been using GoSMS pro, for texting to groups, private inbox, and other minor features. Does Google message or Textra allow for those features?

I am using stock. I tried using Textra on my S10+ but there were several glitches and many messages did not transfer over from my S8+.

To my understanding to whichever carrier support this you can see RCS with TMobile and another carrier, if you using another message app like Android messages then I can't say for sure .

Which is my whole point. Until it's truly universal, it might as well not exist. I use Google Messages for a couple specific reasons; if T-Mobile doesn't support RCS through something like that, then RCS might as well just be another iMessage disaster.

Groups, yes. Private inbox, I don't think so.

Other notable features of Google Messages:

* very easy sharing to SMS from other apps; it lists your latest conversations as targets for sharing, instead of simply showing you a blank message and letting you type in the recipients

* web based messaging via messages.android.com. It mirrors what's on your phone, and uses your phone for the actual messaging, but it gives you computer-based access to all of it via web browser. I find it extremely handy, and frankly a deal-breaker when it comes to moving to Samsung Messages. I'd much rather have the web-based access vs RCS at this point.

Well hopefully it will become more universal soon .

I used to love the stock Android messenger but I have been using TrueCaller for the past month and I love it on the S10

Well, that's my hope.

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile; indeed, the Universal Profile--which rolled out to the S9 family a few months ago--is not on the S10 family. "It will appear when it appears", apparently.

Keep us posted if you see it otherwise probably see in news feed.

Only problem I've noticed with any of the texting apps outside of stock is they don't work via WiFi and they don't send pictures in full resolution.

I'm using the Google messages app because I can send/receive on my computer. I prefer the Samsung app because it allows delayed sending. Hopefully Google will add this feature.

Windows 10 v1809 supports Android messages on PC. Works well for me and I get notifications through windows. To me this is better than the Messages browser interface which periodically requires reauthentication (due to my cache/cookie cleanup) on my pc. Browser interface also lacks desktop notifications.

I've been using Google Messages since I switched to the S10+. Prior to that I fairly exclusively used Textra. While I like some of Textra's features / options, I far prefer the searching of Google Messages. Textra really needs to modernize their search options.

hmmmm, browser interface does a great job of desktop notifications for me.

But more to the point: that Windows 10 supports Android Messages on PC is irrelevant to me and to much of the world, who are not on Windows 10.

Browser interface is universal.
