Started using Textra and I seem to like it the best overall.

Android message app is best. Don't use any third party message application because it may be cause of data freeze these days. Everyone knows future is coming on data demanding.

What advanced messaging features does stock have that others don't?

I was using stock until the last update which lost contacts of my S3 so texts to the watch only had the phone number and no name. I went to textra which I've use for years. I got my contacts working again so I'm back to trying stock.

Advanced features are read receipts and the ability to send and receive high quality images and videos to others with this ability. That's how it works with AT&T anyway. With other texting apps, you are limited to regular SMS limitations so pictures and videos are lousy quality.

Ok so I'm seeing a lot of options and I use stock as well but a few of my friends have old grandfathered plans (cheaper) and that was back when texting was it's own package. What would you suggest for that...with picture and possibly gif features but where it gives you a "new free" number. I tried Textra but it kept waiting to make mine where it was default and I don't want it default. Textplus and Nextplus suck an nonresponsive tech support makes it even worse.

Not sure which one is the stock samsung app anymore. Would like to try stock on S10e if I can find it. The stock app that has no ads.
