which things do a good game need ? Graphic or Gameplay

Gameplay is most important to me, then graphics. I don't really care about storys since I don't have the time anymore to deeply dive into a game.
From a developers perspective it's kinda different. You can make an awesome game that looks terrible and no one even bothers to download it and you end up failing. Appealing graphics are kinda important for user aquisition.

Gameplay first. Graphics are very important to improve the experience. But it's Gameplay that makes a game good or bad.

Bad graphics can scare some people off, bcuz they may think the game is outdated, you can counter this with a good art style, nintendo is a good example, gameplay makes people actually stay and spread the word though

I think having a good game should take priority. The graphics rarely matter to me, as long as they are neat and don't distract from the game process.

Personally, i think gameplay is all that matters for me, for example i started to play "Necronomicon : The Dawning Of Darkness" on Playstation 1, the graphics are pretty bad as all of the images are low res and are scales up massively, but that apart, the story is amazing! anybody looking for a creative story should check this game out :)

Gameplay > great aestethic > 'graphics'. If it's old or looks special, doesn't matter if it has charm and plays well.

Depends what you consider "good graphics". There's also no reason you can't have both. A well designed game should inherently have satisfying to exciting gameplay, and that's mostly based on your original idea for the game. Graphics must also be good, but not next gen. Pixel art, or HD 3D (because half *** 3d is just ugly) games are the most graphically successful.

If you want a good game you need both gameplay and graphics to be great. If only gameplay is good then your game isn't memorable, fun for a while, then people forget it when a similar game with nicer UI or character design comes along. If you only have good graphics and gameplay is mediocre then nothing will stand out about your game whatsoever.

the big players in gaming industry can all provide superb graphic, but i prefer gameplay/story and depth.
the game needs to suck you in and if a game does, it means the graphic doesnt matter

Gameplay is first, always. I can still play a lot of old games with bad graphics. If a game has horrible gameplay, it will not hold my attention long.

I think a good mix of both is important, but leaning more towards gameplay. A game with lousy controls is no fun to play.

If a game has good graphics but bad gameplay it is a bad game. Gameplay is always more important than graphics but graphics mustn't be horrific (my opinion) :)

As long as the graphics aren't extremely awful, I don't really care how nice the graphics are. Graphics can attract me to a game but what actually keeps me playing is good gameplay.
