Which to keep -- Rezound or Thunderbolt?

Seriously is this a honest ?,L.O.L

sent from my ics equipped REZOUND

Yet another ever-so-useful contribution.

Please...if you can't actually be helpful, just pipe down and comment in some other thread.

Yes, it's a serious question. For reasons that are none of your business, I don't really know very much about my phones, so I thought I would ask a simple question here to help me decide what to do. Some folks have been helpful. Others, like yourself, have been anything but.

If your not selling one of them and just dropping a line, you can switch back and forth as much as you want. Someone should correct me, but would not just swapping the sim card back and forth be all that's needed? Of course if your selling one, the rezound will get you more cash, but will, since its newer, last you longer.

He should have just said that then. All of the stuff that came before it was garbage and completely unhelpful.

Might help if you gave a few reasons why you would want to keep the Thunderbolt. From your original post I don't really understand the question. The Rezound is newer and I really can't see anything about a Thunderbolt that would make it competitive. On the other hand, as one poster has mentioned - if you need to sell one phone for money then the Rezound would have a much greater resell value.

Is there a feature that you like on the Thunderbolt that is not on the Rezound? If you can list those that might help other give a better response.

If I had to venture a guess: the native kickstand? Hey, once you go native kickstand, it's hard to go back/give up! :p Considering it's something I use all the time, it's what has always kept me from seriously considering the Rezound (don't like kickstand cases, prefer naked). Spec wise the Rezound is the winner, but every time I'd compare the two side by side, I just didn't feel like it was a worthy upgrade. Although the Rezound's screen is better I didn't like that it's narrower (phone itself is physically narrower as well). Also didn't like the red accents or the feel of the power and volume buttons (prefer the metal accents on the Thunderbolt). They're black and smaller than the Thunderbolt and felt cheap. Also didn't like the back cover of the Rezound, looks ugly (subjective I know) and the speaker cut out looks cheap (compared to the metal grill under the kickstand on the Thunderbolt). Overall, the Thunderbolt felt more solid in hand, better build quality. If given the choice, I'd still stay with the Thunderbolt. Anyway, just my two cents. :)

Thanks to all who provided useful answers. I do like the Tbolt for its kickstand, but that's not enough reason for me to keep using it. I'm more compelled by technical specs, which favor the Rezound, so I'm keeping that one in use.

That said, I agree with synycalwon's prior post for the most part. The Tbolt handles and looks like the better phone, but performance-wise (which is most important to me) the Rezound seems to win. Also, from the little research that I have done, it seems that ROM development is more active for the Rezound than it is for the Tbolt. Since I like fiddling around with ROM builds, I think the edge goes to the Rezound there too.

I have already made the switch by just moving my SIM over from the Tbolt. One thing that the Verizon store noticed today when I went in was that that phone (the Rezound) is showing in their system as a Thunderbolt now that I have moved the SIM over. Is that normal?

You make some decent points, mostly from as you put it a perspective point of view.

The only thing I can say is that yeah, the rezound took some getting used to. I went from fascinate (thin), to Charge/TB to TB/Rezound. The TB had the best build feel out of all of them. Fell in love with the kickstand also.

Once we decided the TB had to go (and it came down to specs and the crappy battery life) it didnt take long for me to totally love the Rez. Couldnt give up the kickstand so I bought a case...

I would agree that the tbolt is a better looking phone and has a better feel. For me though, when it came down to it, the radio on the tbolt was substantially worse than the rezound, and the rezound screen is gorgeous. Of course, different people prioritize differently, so the important thing is that you are happy with what you have.

the screen was a big factor for me, but the absolute biggest was the INCREDIBLY bad battery it had. I know they fixed it, but I would kill the battery in like 2-3 hours with my usage

Battery life on the tbolt is decent now, compared to the rezound, but was horrible when the phone just came out. The radio was no where near as good as the Rezound when it first cam out and the first maintenance release made it MUCH worse. The second maintenance release made the radio better though.

I never had the radio issues and I didnt keep it around long enough for the battery fix, but yeah I know it is better now. I was just stunned that I could only get 3 hours out of a full charge, and 7-8 out of my other phone with the same usage.
