Which Voice Recognition is Better - ICS on the GN or iPhone 4S?

So I got my mom the iPhone 4S as recommended by the VZN guy. The voice recognition is OK, not great if you ask me.

Has anyone been able to compare the quality of the voice recognition of the iPhone 4S to the ICS on the GN?

When I used Google voice typing on my Nexus One about a year and a half ago and Dragon Dictation (by Nuance, which powers the iPhone's dictation) on my iPhone, Dragon was way better. It didn't even compare. Nuance's speech recognition doesn't seem as good as it used to be now that it's built in to the iPhone. Google's is scary accurate for me, especially when I enunciate my words.

Plus I like the way Google's works better on Ice Cream Sandwich. It works as you talk instead of processing it all at the end, it lets me pause to think about what I want to say and doesn't stop listening until I hit done, and I can press done to end it so it doesn't keep listening when there's background noise.

Google's voice typing on Ice Cream Sandwich is a lot better in my opinion.

Voice dictation is more responsive on ICS because the text appears as you speak, rather than waiting for you to finish and then querying the server, and populating the text.

But the natural speech recognition asking Siri to perform tasks is much better on I4S. It's the only thing I'm going to miss; hopefully not for long.

If you learn the commands, Siri doesnt even compare. (And I think shes Lesbo :-X)

You can't compare them really yet, because Siri is still very much a beta product. Whenever Apple takes that label off, then a comparison would be fair.

Siri is just an assistant. The dictation on the iPhone is not beta.

Its all the same. Siri and the voice recognition/dictation are all part of the same system.

I am also impressed with the dictation on the galaxy nexus. Previous to getting the galaxy nexus I never used dictation because it wasn't easy to use. The way I dictates in real time is what does it for me. it's not only the dictation it's also the improvements they made with word correction after typing / dictating.

Its all the same. Siri and the voice recognition/dictation are all part of the same system.

Yes but it's not the voice recognition that's in beta. It's the features and the part about being able to understand what you're saying that's in beta.

The voice recognition is exactly the same thing as the app Dragon Dictation uses.

No, no it isn't. Everything is part of that ecosystem, voice recognition included. Apple is using the 4s buyers as testers to increase the recognition capabilities before taking it out of beta.

Siri may or may not be the best thing since buttered biscuits, but it has nothing to do with one's gender or sexual preferences.
