Release date and prices in the article are all speculation, but its looking like an April 5th release for possibly $199.

Of course, as with all speculation regarding "Galaxy Nexus" and "Verizon" in the same article, take this with a grain of salt.

Honestly, by that time I wouldn't even care anymore about buying a Nexus. If I don't have one by now, I wouldn't want one in April because it won't be too long before better devices hit. But hey, that's just me.

It may be better spec-wise, but will the "better" device have an unlockable bootloader? On Verizon, that's hard to come by lately. I agree, if you haven't purchased one by now, you probably don't really want a Nexus that bad.

Why do you think this white Galaxy Nexus with only 16GB of onboard storage has any better "specs" than the original? It's the same phone with less storage and in a different color.

I meant to quote scorpiodsu referring to better devices right around the corner. It's all in everyone's own definition of "better".
I know the white Galaxy Nexus will not be a better device.

Wrong! VZW is getting rid of the 32GB G NEX in favor of the G Nexus 16gb, similar to how they ended the 32GB RAZR in favor of the Razr Maxx.

VZW doesnt like the Nexus because is doesnt contain all of their bloatware. VZW also wants the RAZR MAXX to continue to be the top phone.

Yep there is no reason to believe this wll be any different than the GSM variant or the one coming for Sprint. Same hardware less memory.

Ha ha no it will be a soft release (just show up one day with no fanfare) and they will still continue to push the RAZR at least until the Droid Fighter or whatever lands or until the HTC One variant arrives. No one cares about the Nexus except the people in these forums and almost everyone who wants one has one by now.

They wanted the status if the elusive of it but never intended to push it IMHO. Not necessarily because of the bloatware issue (though that probably factored in) but because of the phone itself. I've said it before and I will say it again. This is primarily a developer device and designed for developers and phone nerds. They know this.
The radio on the phone itself sucks and I know at least two VZW employees who sent theirs back for that specific reason (and one more who almost did).

Yeah the exclusivity period to keep other carriers from cashing in.

it seems the radios have improved from the launch ones or there were a lot of buggy ones because i had one in december and returned it and just picked one up now and theres a BIG difference for signal reception.

people also have to remember that the nexus ones aren't going to get pushed a lot because google doesn't want to offend the other manufactures the nexus is just for people who want the pure google exp.

I compared mine to one belonging to a VZW rep who got one as a work phone at it was the same dBm. It's not just my phone or a bad batch since his was sent to him and mine was bought on launch day.

I'm not trading mine in which is NEW for one that is USED on the chance it MIGHT get better reception. No thanks.
