Verizon Galaxy S8 White bar on the bottom of my screen when on lock screen

Anyone else suddenly (after Oreo update) have a white bar at the bottom of their screen when it goes to sleep? I can't get to sleep. Can't find out where to turn it off.

My S8 has been doing the same thing ever since the Oreo update. Almost like the bottom navigation bar lights up and stays on while charging. Would love to know how to make it stop.

This is driving me nuts as well...whats the point of a darked out screen saver during night charging with that ugly beacon shining. Not to mention you can't select a basic black for the bar in the settings for general use either.

This will get it black in most places but not on the charge screen saver!

Yep. Same thing happening since Oreo update.

I have Timely Alarm Clock for my home screen clock/alarm on my phone.
Worked great before Oreo update. It would show a very dim clock during the night on the charger, without the bottom navigation bar showing at all. Now the navigation bar is there and white and bright. Had to turn the screen saver/night mode off because of this.

Pretty bummed about this.

I figured it out. It's the screensaver. Go into Display>Screen Saver and shut it off.

It seems to be a glitch where the phone times out to the screen saver on the lock screen. Turning that off fixes it.

But that isn't a glitch. That is what it is designed to do. Having screensaver while you dock/plug your phone in at night to charge and at the same time, stay dimly lit on screensaver to provide a bedside clock. I have now turned that screensaver off because the newly created issue with Oreo update now shows the bottom bar in full white which it didn't before the update. The screensaver/night clock is now useless to me.

Hmmm. Doesn't fix anything, other than disabling the function of the screen saver. Hopefully there will be a fix coming soon.

I had that same bright white bar show up on my S8 during charging, only happened once, I removed the phone from the charger and put it back on and all was good again. I have AOD on and screensaver off, screen timeout is set to two minuites.

I tried closing out all Chrome windows and the white task bar seemed to disappear at least for a while.

Has there been a fix yet? Curious, maybe I missed it. I don't want to turn off my screen saver either. I like having the clock on at night

Go into settings, screen saver and turn off. Done.

A similar issue happened to my Pixel 2. The navigation bar buttons would be on when charging and the screen was all black.
This solution also fixed it.

YES!! idk if it was Oreo update, but i just ran update couple days ago n this ******* bar wont go away!! It interferes w/getting to toggles on other programs! I hate it! Anyone know how to get rid of it?!?

When your phone goes to sleep, just press the power button on the right it will turn off the white bar leaving a black screen.
