New to the Galaxy S7 and have found this white circle (attaching pic) (below Google search bar on the right-- almost middle of page). When I tap on it the settings shortcut comes up. I like using the pull down menu, so how do I get rid of the circle one? I have looked all over settings and find nothing.

It's in the Accessibility settings. Go to Dexterity and Interaction and turn off 'Assistant Menu'

I tried that, Assistant Menu was off. But for the heck, I turned it on, then off and still have that circle shortcut. I did turn phone on and off. Wondering if this is calling for a factory reset.

What happens if you long press that icon? Do you get any information or can be dragged around?

It can be dragged around, but can't remove it (like pulling to top of page). When tapping on it, it opens the shortcut menu (same menu as when you pull down from top).

Maybe a third party app with a similar feature to the Assistant menu? When did you see that icon for the first time? Do you remember installing or updating any app right before it appeared?

Settings... Accessibility... Dexterity and interaction... Show touches. Turn that off and the spot will disappear

Yeah, I'm with Javier... sounds like a 3rd party app or widget. You can go to the Application Manager, tap on the More menu and select 'Apps that can appear on top'. Any of the apps that have the switch in the ON position could be the culprit, just find the one that sounds like it could add a feature like that.

Had the exact same issue today and found the culprit. I'm pretty positive that uninstalling / reinstalling ES File Explorer will do the job (couldn't find the setting in the app, so I went the hard way). ;)

I don't have ES explorer, but do have the white dot issue. Does anyone know what this button or widget is called? I've been trying to search for it but can't hit the right jargon to pull up anything more helpful than this thread.

It's called Floating Dock, search that in Settings and disable it, that annoying white floating circular menu will go away.

I had the same problem and I relate my supper flash light app and it went off and I haven't seen it since so it might be connectes to a app like mine was. I hope this help someone..
