↑↑↑↑↑ this. That is normal. I remember having that on my pixel 3 XL.I've had this on every pixel phone and why I don't use black wallpapers. With my 2XL, I did a warranty return and the one I got back had it as well. It's been like this on the 2, 3 and no 4 xl's.

Ok, but how is this normal or acceptable if not everyone has it. Sounds like an issue Google needs to address.↑↑↑↑↑ this. That is normal. I remember having that on my pixel 3 XL.
So you have it too? Do you have the regular 4 or XL?I agree, it's frustrating because clearly there is a problem. Works fine on the lock screen but not the home screen. Makes no sense why it's on one but not the other.
Yeah I'm on the stock launcher. Are you using stock launcher ?
Yeah mine is the XL but I had the 4 as well and returned it just yesterday. I don't recall seeing anything like that on the smaller 4 as well and I generally use dark wallpapers. But yeah others who currently have the smaller 4 can chime in as well.
I do prefer the smaller size and battery life played some factor. After using both I didn't feel pixel 4 XL to be too big and with the slim case it wasn't that bad. So that and the additional battery life made me keep the bigger one over the smaller even though I prefer smaller phones. I may eventually go Pixel 4 down the line who knows. Last year also I started with Pixel 3 XL and after half year I went with smaller 3 even though battery life was less. I do change phones a lot so don't know down the line what I'm going to keepDid you return because of battery life? Or just didn't like the smaller size?
Anyone notice a slight white Fade at the top of their screen when using a black wallpaper? Seems to be only on the home screen like it's illuminating the top icons. If I view full black apps or pictures it goes away. I'll try to grab a pic of it when I can as it doesn't show in screen shots. I'm not really concerned about it just wondering if I'm the only one or not.
Im late to this thread but I have the same thing happening to me. It's only on the homescreen with black wallpapers. The phone isn't defective it's a defect in the pixels software to anyone else that is having this issue.
Yeah, I figured that out later on. The funny thing is Google support didn't even know it's they're own launcher causing this and they sent me a replacement device. When I received the new device to see the same issue I tried Nova and noticed that it was gone.Sorry I just got a Pixel 4 so I'm perusing the rooms. I noticed this way back on my Pixel 2. It's the stock pixel launcher. For some reason it puts little white light on the top and bottom of any wallpaper. If you check out a launcher, like Nova launcher, it does not do that. So if you run Nova launcher that problem disappears. It's just something with the stock launcher

Not everyone on a support line is aware of every feature or issue.Lol That's crazy that they did not know that about their own launcher
