Who does trade in work at Bestbuy?

I want to get the unlocked Note 9 from bestbuy and I see they have a trade-in on Note 8 for $450. How does trade in at bestbuy work? Do you walk in with the Note 8 on the 24th, hand it over and pick up your preorder?

No, that only gives $380 trade in value for Note 8. Current preorder promotion is $450 for Note 8.

It's great. They take your phone on the spot and give you a gift card for the amount they give for the trade. You can then hand that right back to them and put it toward the phone you're purchasing

Wow that is awesome. Wondering how that works for preorder! They seem to be wanting to charge me pull price online.

I'm going to stop at the store tomorrow to ask. If they will take my phone on the spot and credit me back $450, I'm in!!!

Trade in will occur at time of Pick up. You will trade in and get the standard value for trade in of your device, in addition to a coupon that brings the total to the promotional amount you are getting (standard protection to keep folks from just getting extra value and not using it on the purchase). You then apply that towards the purchase. As you need to of not paid for the device already, this is best served by going into the store and doing the pre-order, rather than online.
