Who Else Keeps Power Save Mode On At All Times?

I have never used PSM, but I also keep my screen down (below 25%, as I work in a dark space, and it's almost too bright even at 25%). Typically off the charger at 7AM and back on about 11PM. always seem to have about 70% still left, so no PSM for me.

I don't use power saving mode because I don't like that recent apps and back button do not light up with it turned on.

All of these posts listing hours and percentages lack context. Without listing Screen On Time as well, the numbers mean very little. If I leave the phone in my pocket most of the day, I can get 24+ hours easily too .

This is a very useful thread to me as I am interested in possibly using the PSM, but it's hard to gauge effectiveness of others use without knowing the screen on time.. Thanks..

I have found that regular power saver mode actually uses more battery on mine. Don't use it at all.

I use PSM 24/7. For me it makes a 14hr day last 18hrs. The only big drawback is that 3 second unlock screen.

I always used power save on my S3 phone and do now on my Note 4...... I never notice a difference in performance without it other than faster battery drain. I like to conserve battery mainly for unforeseen emergencies.

USPM is on while traveling to and from home/work/home and when I'm at work. I'm liking this feature when I first learned about it here on the AC.

There are a few checkboxes in Power Saving Mode that are really important to see what works and what does not work for folks.

In regular Power Saving, you have:

- Restrict Background Data
- Restrict performance
-- CPU
-- Screen output
-- Turn off touch key light
-- Turn off GPS
- Grayscale mode

Of the above settings, I have only tried "Restrict Performance / CPU". I can certainly "feel" a stutter/delay every now and then when I have not used the phone for a bit, but it also seems to make a small difference in battery life.

I'm trying that in combination with "screen output" right now, to see if slightly dimming the screen plus throttling the CPU seems to make a difference.

I leave my Power Save Mode on at all times, and I have not noticed any downfall.

Does anyone else does this?

Is there a downside to this?

I don't use it, I always run my Notes full power, they are made for that. I did use it on my S5 though.

There is no way that you go 12 plus hours with only using the power saver mode (and no, not ultra power saver mode) on the stock battery. You have to have an extended battery, in which then is possible

It does, I turn off everything, such as wifi, gps, bluetooth, and dim the screen. I only use them when needed, that way they are not in constant 'search' mode, which thus, burns more batter.
