Who is a storm going to Droid X?

Thanks for the responses so far. I'm mainly concerned with emails other than gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. I guess I should have stated that in my original post. The 2 that I'm most concerned about are exchange (web-based) & RoadRunner accounts. Please forgive me if I'm not being very clear as I'm not very experienced in this matter. Also, I'm not too concerned about the speed as my BB receives emails about a half hour after my computer.

Again, I appreciate the feedback.

o.o wow when I ran gmail on my bb i got them emails at the same time as my computer pretty much. I would suggest starting a gmail account. If you must keep your old ones I'm sure there is a way to have all of your emails automatically forwarded to a new gmail. I'm not sure how it will affect speed but from the past few years of using Gmail over hotmail and other services including roadrunner it is A LOT faster, even on the computer.

When I spoke to CSR last night about my Storm1 constantly rebooting or my numerous, daily battery pulls to keep it limping along, he let out a small chuckle and apologized to me about the Storm. His quote: "I think we all learned a hard lesson on that one, but wait until you switch to Android...it will blow your mind!"

Better yet, when I order my X online next Thursday, with the free overnight shipping, it will arrive on my birthday...can't beat that one!:D

"Never mind that other phone we sold you by telling you it was awesome... This phone really IS awesome!!! Oh, that will be $199 and 99 cents. Yes, plus tax. Thanks, see ya in 18 months!"

Not quite...VZW never told me the Storm was awesome - it was an experiment on my own part to check out the BB experience. I knew the Storm wouldn't be perfect, but gave it a try.

I currently have the Storm 1 and a couple of weeks ago I used my upgrade to get the Droid. I had it for a few days and loved it and then found out that the X was coming so I returned it. All I can say is that the Storm is a real piece of S___T!!! You can't even compare the the two in terms of speed and apps and for that matter emails. I received emails just as fast on the droid when I was using it for those couple of days. RIM is just soooo far behind its not even funny. Android 2.1 is light years ahead of any RIM os and when 2.2 drops it will just be silly. I just don't understand how all of the BB users can be brain washed into thinking that "things will get better" I thought BB was a pretty good phone while I had it, but after playing with the Droid for a few days, and then having to go back to my BB, I felt like I had a smart phone awakening!! Bring on that Droid X baby!!

I wish I could. I am on my fourth Storm 2 in less than a year. It still has issues, though not as bad as some of the previous.

If there was some way I could just start out with a new device. I have been a BB user for several years and just have had it with the same bugs.

You might try and call VZW and speak to a Manager and explain that you've had it with BB and tell them you are considering canceling unless they would consider moving up your upgrade date. I did that with mine and was nice about it and without question they bumped my upgrade to 06-21-10 from 11-25-10. Worth a shot!!

Didn't they already offer the Droid X to anyone who was due for an upgrade in 2010? This bump may be par for the course by now, considering how short the smartphone lifecycle has become.

I will give it a try. My NE2 isn't until 07/2011 since I just came to VZ late last year, so I am not eligible for the current offer.

I bought two original Storms after standing in line early on release day. The Storms was a good phone at the the time and I have never though it was a POS (the old Storm is still better at handling email than any Android, or other OS, phone I've used.). But, technology moves on and I'm a gadget diva. So I got the original Droid on release day last year. My Storm went to my son and I used his upgrade. On the 15th, I will give my droid to my husband who is still using the Storm and will use the new every two to get the X. My remaining two available upgrades will await the next big updated phone in the pipe, maybe a win 7 just to give it a try or an iphone for the hubby because he thinks he wants one...

That would be me as well... check out this POS. LOL
