So I'm just curious... I know sometimes people hold onto their device for years. For example, my buddy is still using the Note 10+ I sold him like two years ago, despite it being long out of support. I recall hearing someone say that they are still using the Note 9.

I remember seeing someone else awhile back saying that they are still on the Note 8 and S8! Crazy!
I'd think buy now that your phone is probably being held together by tape lol

Is there anyone in this scenario?

Asking these fellas depends on your decision of " old " ........ since some in here consider the current iteration as old haaaaaa!?!?

Most but not all has the latest and greatest. Not I thought. I'm not like that haaaaaa

The longest I held onto a device was 4 years. The BlackBerry Passport was no longer being supported, but at least I didn't have to worry about security with the BB10 OS - too small of a market for the ne're-do-wells to be interested in the work required to do their dirty deeds. 😂 Fortunately, the Passport didn't lose much in the way of functionality or speed in those 4 years.

While I can imagine someone using an outdated phone for rudimentary tasks such as making phone calls or taking pictures, I certainly wouldn't use one for banking, sensitive communications, etc. I know a few people doing so, and yes, I think they are crazy and I don't hesitate to tell them so. 🤣 Besides, who has the patience to deal with old and slow software/hardware?

Don't need a new phone every year, but once support is gone, so is the phone.
