Who is still using their Galaxy S5 "naked" and why?

Just smashed my screen with an otterbox commuter on it. I'm going out tomorrow and buying a new s5 and will not be using a case. I hated having that big case on there but thought it would be there if I dropped it. Could have went naked this whole time.

Yeah but i picked an Omnia a few months back and verizon released an update that unlocked the Gps. Verizon is getting the picture. And I don't think the droid will not be locked to Verizon Gps.

Sorry to hear that.

Last Friday at work my phone went flying from 6 feet onto concrete with the "naked" case I have on it.

It landed face down and bounced on its sides before stopping!

I thought the screen was a goner, thankfully, I was wrong!

The phone itself has no scratches, only the 4 corners of my case have scratches.
I guess I was lucky the screen didn't brake.

At the moment I am, but that's because my accessories got lost in the mail. Thankfully half of them will be here today, the rest tomorrow... hopefully.

All my phones are/have been naked. I hate cases. I have never broken a phone, knock on wood.

I said the something and after ~8 years of smartphones, I smashed two screen in a span of 4 months.

Using the Spigen Neo Hybrid now. Looks nice, but agree there is nothing like the naked phone. I also cancelled my insurance as a result. Also, this may benefit my ability to resell the phone down the line as a "mint" condition phone. Just some food for thought.

I don't like cases and really like how it feels without it. And it looks better. But I am an electrician. I work construction. I've literally broken every smartphone I have ever owned. Even with case, I still get things like metal shavings magnetically drawn to speaker

I don't like how the camera protrudes out like it does...that's just asking for trouble down the line so that's one benefit to using a case.

This is the only reason I'm using a case. Never used a case on my other phones before.

I used my GS4 every weekend for almost a year without a case, and the camera was protruding also.
And with that shiny back plate is was easier to drop, but mine was drop only once on wood floors, nothing happened to it!

I got a spigen slim armor but dont like it. Power button is hard to push and I have to use a toothpick to open the charger port.

I really like the one I have! Looks like a naked phone but it's protected! 🙌

I just really dislike cases. I always bought Otterboxes for my iPhones, used them for a while, then took them off and never used them again. I like the way the phone feels and looks without one. With these S5's being water and dust resistant with strong glass and a textured back, I am not worried about damage, scratches or dings. I'm pretty careful with my stuff.

I was going to get a case but then I dropped my phone and dinged up the bezel so now I don't really care.. I was cautious and bought a zagg extreme screen protector though.

I know what you're saying but there are people like me that need a case to protect their phone at work.

Only had my S5 a couple of weeks and I normally leave my phones 'naked' but after cracking the screen on my S3, I'm considering getting the quadlock case when it comes out for the S5 so I can attach the phone to my bike when I go out for rides. Depending on how good the case is will make me decide on if I will keep it on the phone or only use it when going out on the bike. I do need to look into a screen protector though.

Mine is naked. Slid off a bar once and the screen has some hairline scratches. Wasn't a far fall I was surprised that the gorilla glass didn't fair better. There aren't any other scratches on the device, just the screen from that fall. When I switch to verizon I'll make sure to put a tempered screen protector on it.

I don't like cases, but I've dropped my phone a couple of times and got a few scratches on the faux "metal" part around the phone, so I think I'll need to get one now.

I had a Bumper, then switch to a bigger belt clip holster, but that wouldnt allow wireless charging when I bought the cheap $8 wireless charging insert for my S5.
So I tried an aluminium bumper but that really impacts GPS reception and since I play Ingress which uses the GPS that is a no go.
I am back to a this TPU Bumper which wont effect wireless charging, and a cheap velcro belt holster now.
all is good.
(I do miss using the gold colored aluminium bumper as it looked great)

I just got my Electric Blue back cover, looks great.

I also have 3-4 minor dents around the edges from coins in my pocket. I'm fine with it because if/when Samsung releases the Prime, I guess it's an excuse to upgrade. LOL It's not like I can't use the accessories I bought.

How does it look with that blue cover?
