Who is To Blame for giant phones?

Ok dude, everyone here has given you the same answer (pretty much) that it is consumers and companies following the trend that leads to the big phones
Now if you can't use a bigger phone and keep trying to argue a point when you already got an answer, that sounds like a personal problem
If you wanted to know with 100% accuracy why the companies do this, then ask them, don't complain to us when you don't like our answer

I hear you. I am selling my Note 3 and going back to a Razr Maxx HD when I want Android. It's great phone with a decent screen. It's not a screamer but it gets the job done and runs forever. I don't need it to be a screamer. I also have an Icon and a 928. I prefer the 928 because it has a smaller screen and body. Would I like it to be as fast as the Icon? Yup. But I give that up for form factor. I'd love a HTC M8 or Samsung S5. But they are too big. So is the G3. So I'm in the same boat. I'm tempted to go back to the Moto X, but it's not really any improvement over the MaxxHD, and a large drop in battery life.

It is not the fact I don't like anyone's answers, it just that the answers given don't seem logical given current smartphone trends. The main one being that smaller devices sell in the millions yet Android has no true iPhone equivalent that has power and form factor.

Everyone keeps saying the follow the market but what evidence is there to support that, when the market is still selling millions of phones at smaller form factors.

Wellm the thing that annoyed me was the previous answers kept talking about the market. Well screw the market. The market is driving phones that even the blogs are telling you are too big for one handed use. There is no reason not to put a high end micro in the smaller phone. Except the big phones are what's sexy and they have brainwashed people into thinking they must have a larger screen or the phone just isn't very good. Yeah some people prefer the larger phone for ease of reading. I know I can read more easily on a note 3. But mostly what I read is Kindle and I can bump the test size on that or use a 7" tab. If I look up something on the web, it's happens rarely and for a short time and I can magnify the text with a simple gesture. If I do anything serious it will be on a laptop. So give me a 4.7" display and a 2.5ghz SOC. in a small form factor. You can do it, Samsung, Motorola, HTC - get with it.

Stop comparing Android to Apple though! There are a lot of reasons while apple sells so many iPhones
The smaller size is not the only reason people buy them
You are trying to say that android phone manufacturers should make smaller phones because a small minority of people want them, based off of the fact that apple, a big competitor who has a whole different look, OS, and brand/fan base sells a lot of phones? That logic is flawed

Also.. You say the market sold millions of a smaller phone.. Well of course! The iPhone only had one size. Do you think he iPhone 6 with its bigger screen won't sell millions? It will.. Because people want the iPhone... It's popular... And they'll buy it even with the bigger screen..

So then the market will change.. What then? Is the market wrong? You're comparing last years small iPhone to the new Android phones of today... When we all know the next iPhone will also sell millions even with the bigger screen.

Besides I hold my GS5 in one hand and type with the other, really not that hard
And besides, why would you only want to use one hand anyway? It's much easier using two in the first place

Nope, the logic is sound. Just how different is iOS and Android anyway? Day to day, you have icons on a home screen that launch apps. Yeah, android has widgets but the widgets are the only thing that make much difference to screen size. Once you've launched that app, the ONLY difference between an iPhone running Kindle and S5 running Kindle is screen size. And the iPhone 5s is pretty darned fast.

Putting aside the fan base of Apple - which really isn't any worse than some for HTC or Samsung, the reason Apple sells well is because they are really good phones. If Apple was making junk, they'd be out of business. But they aren't. I don't happen to like their closed system (although it has it's advantages - look how painful new Android release are compared to iOS - getting KitKat released across carriers and manufacturers was frustrating to customers), so I stay away. But that has nothing to do with how good they are. I am looking forward to the new, larger iPhone and I'm hoping they don't get stupid about screen size. Something a little under 5", or 4.7" with nice thin bezels like the G3 would be good.

People buy millions of iPhones not because of the size. They buy small iPhones because a) they're the only available size (if and when they release a bigger iPhone this fall they will continue to sell like hot cakes), and b) they prefer iOS.

No, iPhones will sell at pretty much any size! Some people buy them because they're small, some because they're made by Apple, and for other reasons

But according to your logic, when the iPhone gets bigger which it will, then the phone won't sell well, which just isn't true

And I use Aviate on a GS5, so my experience is going to be quite different then an iPhone 5s

They make money off it because that's how they are marketed. That's all it is. Maybe you aren't brainwashed and genuinely need a larger screen. Fine. I'm glad the makers can accommodate you. But while they are at it, perhaps they can accommodate US - the people who do not need, want or appreciate a 5.5" or larger screen but would be perfectly happy to get the performance they are putting in those pocket hogs. But I guarantee you, the reason those big screens exist is because one day a makers marketing group decided they had to differentiate themselves and then everyone else piled on.
