Who is using the Microsoft ecosystem on their S9?

I would normally write this post in the Microsoft Apps forum but given Samsung devices comes with preinstalled, un-uninstallable Microsoft apps such as OneDrive, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, I decided to put this here.

Did you go the extra mile and move your stuff to Microsoft's ecosystem?

Call me confused. Nothing of Office or Microsoft was or is pre-installed. OneNote I'll give "maybe."

Carrier or something else? For me, all had to be installed.

Yes I use Edge and Office 365. I rely on Excel. Also own various Surface devices.

Oh then maybe it's a regional thing. All my Samsung devices (S7, S8 and S9) had those MS apps preinstalled.

I use OneDrive (for about 9 years) MS launcher, Outlook mail/calendar. Have tried Cortana several times, but it just doesn't work like it did on WP.
I also had to download from Play Store. Nothing pre-installed.

Microsoft Launcher was surprisingly decent in my experience. It's missing some features that I like so.i always end up back with Nova.

I started getting two of all my emails when I installed Outlook - must have messed up. It asked something and I said I wanted to continue using Apple Mail. Never had that happen before. So I uninstalled Outlook on all my devices, I devices, Samsung and Surface. At least until I figure out why and how to fix.

Not sure if it might also be an issue with OS but they push updates weekly for Outlook and rest of Office. And unlike Windows 10 seem safe.

If it's unlocked can't see why Microsoft would bundle. Definitely not with AT&T or US variant.

No it's not unlocked and I'm in Canada. But all my devices in the last years came from different carriers. So I'm guessing in Canada they come bundled.

I use mainly Google stuff but have few Microsoft productivity apps like Outlook for work email, OneDrive as reductant photo backup on top of Google photos, OneNote and the usual Word, Excel and other stuff.
Microsoft launcher is good for most part but no launcher can be my main launcher if it doesn't have the awesome Google feed support officially or unofficially like Nova and many other third party launchers provide.

Microsoft never contributed anything really useful to the kernel.
They started with self-serving contributions like to facilitate the running of virtual linux systems under a microsoft hypervisor.
Even the link from linuxjournal.com states: "Without a doubt, Microsoft’s motives were self-serving; it needed to ensure that Windows and Linux would interoperate well into the future."
Why? Microsoft is fine with Linux servers, as long as these linux servers are captive instances running on a microsoft platform.
This does not make them a top contributor. Just a rich predator.

Wow! Big words! Child molester, predator. Just a tad exaggerated (and this is a gross understatement)...

That being said, you seem like an extreme Linux fan so I can guess what your problem with Microsoft is but we are talking about a Google owned platform which has several closed source parts and on top of it all a Samsung device which adds its own layers of closed source.

I don't know what your problem with Microsoft is that makes you use such harsh and inadequate words, but honestly I don't understand what it has to do with anything with Android and Samsung.

Heh. We all know exactly what this person's deal is. Anti everything Microsoft. Keeps screaming that *this* will be the year of Linux and Linux on the desktop - all year, EVERY year.
