No German language installed that I know of. Hadn't thought of it coming from an app. It could be??? Google Discover Cards??? Google Assistant?

Maybe I can relax a little if it's something benign from Mother Goog? LOL.
So far I've cleared cache and downloads. Turned off notifications in settings and the app, no change.

Yes, the version is the stable one. Such a weird issue. Just a thought, open Google News - tap your avatar/circle top right - Notifications & Shared and see what you have in both tabs.Hi, Thanks for the responses.

Probably something that got downloaded , but glad it work out .mustang7757
That got rid of zwieback. I cleared the cache and storage and forced stop and rebooted. It's gone now. I have no clue where it came from but I'll be watching. Maybe new phone update??? It's only 3 weeks old. Maybe something I clicked because I haven't given it 5 minutes rest since I bought it, LOL.

Glad you managed to fix the issue. Now we left all of us curious about how you got that extra section in the notification settings.mustang7757
