Who plans on rooting?

I will probably not root it for a while. I don't want to take chances with google wallet especially since my galaxy nexus wallet got bricked (secure element)

Just wondering, but what is the difference between unlocking and rooting. Can you use stickmount if it's just unlocked?

I don't know exactly. Just know that stickmount requests root. From what I gather after unlocking the device you just install superuser from the play store for root but I could be wrong on that

Funny, I just read that article.

Microwaving a phone as a solution for water getting inside... is that a legit solution?

Certainly did with my Rezound (1st android) and expect the same with my Nexus.

xda seems a bit snobbish, at least for non-dev. I realize that it's a dev site primarily. I've stayed away mostly but do check in and see what's happening once in a while. Not being a developer I have little to contribute and have been told so.

I don't post much there, but even asking a question to get clarification on something I seem to be "put in my place" as it were, basically told to go to AC or phandroid or to hell.

So stay away from there as much as I can.
